Saturday’s Best MLB Player Props

Kevin McGonigle 2+ Hits + Runs + RBIs (-110 at BetMGM)

Kevin McGonigle is off to a solid start, hitting .346 with five RBI through seven games. He's gone over this mark in four out of seven games. He faces a Cardinals starting pitcher in Dustin May, who got lit up in his first start last week (10 hits and six earned runs over four innings).

Between the Dodgers and Red Sox last season, May had an ERA of 4.96 and a WHIP of 1.42. He was at his worst away from home (6.59 ERA, opponent batting average of .271). It would not be shocking to see McGonigle go off today.

Yordan Alvarez 1+ Home Runs (+265 at Fanatics Sportsbook)

Yordan Alvarez is off to a great start for the Astros with 10 hits in 25 at-bats across eight games, including three home runs (.400 batting average, 1.409 OPS). Sutter Health Park was one of the more home run-friendly parks in the league last season. Athletics starter Luis Morales gave up three home runs in his first start in just 4.1 innings of work.

Morales gave up eight homers in ten appearances last season (48.2 innings). After that start, and in this park, I love Alvarez’s chances to go deep today.

Emerson Hancock Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+125 at bet365)

I'm a little surprised this number is so low. Emerson Hancock had nine strikeouts in his first start in six innings last week. The Angels lead the league in strikeouts with 92 across eight games. However, Emerson went over this mark in just two out of 22 appearances (16 starts) last season.

If Hancock were facing a team that has not been striking out 10+ times a game already this season, I'd be inclined to go with the under. But I'll go with the over as a solid value play based on what we've seen this season from Hancock and the Angels.
