Saturday’s Best MLB Player Props

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook unless otherwise stated.)

Byron Buxton 3+ Hits + Runs + RBIs (+180)

Minnesota faces a solid pitcher today in Toronto's Dylan Cease. But Byron Buxton has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball over the last week, hitting an impressive .423 (11-for-26 with five runs scored and six RBI).

Buxton has cleared this total in four of his last five games. He has just one hit in eight career at-bats against Cease, but I'm willing to bet on a hot hand staying hot.

If you're less confident but still expect a decent day, you can instead bet on him to record just two combined hits + runs + RBIs at -105 odds.

Chase DeLauter Over 1.5 Total Bases (+135 at bet365)

Chase DeLauter has gone over this total three times in his last four games. He's also hitting .550 over the last week with 11 hits in 20 at-bats across six games.

After going 4-for-4 last night against J.T. Ginn and the Athletics’ bullpen, I wouldn't be surprised if they work around DeLauter a couple of times today (after his first hit, if not from the start).

Ildemaro Vargas 2+ Total Bases (+155)

No one at the plate is as red-hot as Ildemaro Vargas right now. Over the last week, he has hit .542, collecting 13 hits in 24 at-bats across six games. With a 4-for-4 performance yesterday, he set a new record for Venezuelan-born players and extended his hitting streak to 27 consecutive games.

Chicago Cubs starter Shota Imanaga has limited hitters all season (0.87 WHIP). But given how well Vargas is swinging the bat, I wouldn't be surprised if Imanaga pitches around him at least once - if not twice.

Still, Imanaga has performed too well to ignore. I'd stick with two or more total bases rather than chasing a higher total for a bigger payout.

Jordan Walker 2+ Total bases (+100)

Jordan Walker has emerged as one of the most exciting players in baseball this season. Over the last week, he hit .407 with 11 hits in 27 at-bats.

Dodgers starter Roki Sasaki has struggled this season (6.35 ERA, 1.81 WHIP), and could be in for a long day. Considering how well Walker is playing, it's surprising this prop carries plus-money odds.

If you're willing to take on additional risk, you might consider betting on him to record three or more total bases (+185), four or more total bases (+260) or even five or more total bases (+550).
