Saturday’s Best MLB Player Props
(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)
Cam Schlittler Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+104)
Cam Schlittler has not had his best stuff in his two June starts, recording just three strikeouts in one game and five in the other. But he averaged eight per game in May and has averaged over seven per game on the road. In his start against the Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium last month, Schlittler recorded seven strikeouts in six innings.
Toronto has been hitting the ball well lately (.281 average over six games last week). You know they are going to be swinging. In those games, they averaged over eight punchouts per contest.
Garrett Mitchell 2+ Total Bases (+180)
I am a little surprised at this number. Garrett Mitchell has hit .368 over the last week with seven hits in 19 at-bats across four games.
Mitchell has hit safely in three of them, with multiple hits in two, and five extra-base hits. Lefties are hitting .311 against Phillies starter Aaron Nola this season. Mitchell is hitting .247 for the season, so there is a chance he cools off, but at +180 odds, I like the value.
Zack Gelof 3+ Total Bases (+155)
Zack Gelof has hit safely in all four games (three versus the Brewers and last night against the Rockies) this week, and he has hit safely in his last 16 games with multiple hits in five of those games.
Gelof had five hits in 18 at-bats in Las Vegas, with three being extra-base hits (one double and two home runs). Rockies starter Kyle Freeland has given up eight home runs, and teams are hitting .323 against him in his road starts.
In a hitter-friendly park like Las Vegas Ballpark, against this pitcher, and with how well he's been hitting, Gelof is a solid bet to record three or more bases.
Nick Kurtz to Hit a Home Run (+152)/Nick Kurtz 4+ Total Bases (+115)
Nick Kurtz is one of many hitters who have been loving Las Vegas Ballpark, with seven hits in 19 at-bats, including four home runs.
Now, Kurtz’s other three hits were just singles. But with how he's been hitting and how hittable Kyle Freeland has been on the road, I like Kurtz to hit another dinger or get a pair of extra-base hits in this game.
