Saturday’s Best MLB Player Props

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook unless otherwise specified)

Paul Skenes Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-104)

Paul Skenes has gone over this mark in nine of his last 10 games, including his May 12th start against the Rockies at home when he struck out 10 batters.

Skenes went eight innings in his start against Colorado but only needed six to record his 10 punchouts and had seven inside in the first five innings. The Rockies have been hitting the ball well over the last week (.299) and have averaged six strikeouts per game in that stretch (six games).

But they'll face one of the best strikeout pitchers in the league in Skenes. He'll be up to the challenge.

Max Meyer Under 5.5 Strikeouts (-104)

Max Meyer is having a solid season. He has seven wins in 15 starts and has yet to factor into a loss. In eight home games, he has a 1.97 ERA and has recorded 48 strikeouts (six per game). He has gone over this prop in six of his last nine starts and in three of his last five. But the Giants just haven't been striking out lately. In four games over the last week, they totaled 17 strikeouts.

In road games, they have averaged eight per game all season. With Meyer averaging six strikeouts per game and the Giants exercising tremendous plate discipline of late, take the under.

Josh Bell 2+ Hits + Runs + RBIs (-120)

At first, I was a little surprised that Josh Bell did not have shorter odds for this prop. Over the last week, he has hit .450 (9-for-20) with seven RBI and five runs in five games. But there is just one problem: He's hitting just .244 this season. However, Zac Gallen has a 5.35 ERA and 1.53 WHIP, and opponents are hitting .303 against him.

I like Bell’s chances of going over this total today.

Colton Cowser 1+ Hits (+106 at DraftKings Sportsbook)

I overlooked this one at first because Colton Cowser is only hitting .224 on the season, Dodgers starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto has a 0.84 WHIP and teams are hitting .188 against him and FanDuel had this at -110.

But then I saw it was listed at +106 on DraftKings, and that Cowser has hit safely in 13 of his last 20 games, including six out of nine road games, including his last two. At +106, this prop is a solid value play.
