Saturday’s Best MLB Player Props

(Odds courtesy of BetMGM)

Peter Lambert Under 2.5 Earned Runs (+100)

Peter Lambert has done a good (but not great) job for the Astros this season, going 7-5 in 14 starts with a 3.26 ERA. The Rangers tagged him with five earned runs back on May 17th, but since then, Lambert has allowed two runs or fewer in six out of eight starts.

Texas hasn't been lighting pitchers up these days, hitting .242 over the last week. With how these teams have played all season, this one could go either way, but at plus odds, this is a solid value play.

Walker Buehler Under 3.5 Strikeouts (+100)

Going with the under here almost seems counterintuitive given the stats. Walker Buehler has averaged 4.4 strikeouts per game this season and has gone over this mark in seven consecutive outings.

However, the Blue Jays have struck out an MLB-low 26 times over the last week.  The opposing starting pitchers in the last three games recorded three strikeouts or fewer versus Toronto. There is a solid chance Buheler does not go over this mark, making the under a solid value play.

Trey Yesavage Over 17.5 Outs Recorded (-105)

Trey Yesavage has recorded 18+ outs in six out of 13 starts this season, including three of his last four (he recorded 17 outs in the other). San Diego has not been hitting poorly with a .241 batting average over the last week. But pitchers certainly aren't going to be scared by the Padres’ lineup either.

After pulling Shane Bieber last night after 4.2 innings of work, the Blue Jays would probably love it if Yesavage could give the bullpen a break and go at least six innings tonight. With how he's been pitching, there is a strong chance he'll do just that.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto Over 18.5 Outs Recorded (+110)

In this day and age, expecting a pitcher to last six innings, let alone more than that, is a risky proposition. However, Yoshinobu Yamamoto has been an innings eater for the Dodgers this season, going for seven or more innings in five of his last eight starts and for six in two of those three outliers.

The Dodgers’ bullpen was awful last night, giving up nine hits, nine runs and five walks on the day. If the Dodgers can get a long outing out of him, they'll absolutely take it. Against this Diamondbacks lineup, it is certainly possible.
