Saturday’s Best MLB Player Props

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Ceddanne Rafaela Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-110)

Initially, I balked at this prop because Dylan Cease is a solid starting pitcher with a good WHIP. But then I took a deep dive into how well Ceddanne Rafaela has been playing. His .282 batting average for the season is solid but doesn't stand out.

However, Rafaela has hit .294 since the break and .320 over the last week. He has gone over this total in eight of his last nine games and in 54 out of 98 games this season. Yes, Cease is a solid pitcher, but Rafaela is up to the task. He'll go over this total.

Andre Pallante Over 17.5 Outs Recorded (-110)

In three starts this month, Andre Pallante has not gone over 17 outs. But he did go over that mark in four out of five starts last month and on May 23rd versus the Reds in Cincinnati. He typically tends to get pulled when around 85-100 pitches (93 vs. Reds in May).

The Reds have not been hitting too well since the break (.241); .228 over the last week. It would be nice if Pallante could get more support from his lineup (.213 batting average over the last week), but Pallante can still get the job done.

CJ Abrams 3+ Hits + Runs + RBIs (+146)

CJ Abrams has been on a roll for the Nationals of late, hitting .433 with nine RBIs and seven runs scored since the break and in six of his last seven games. Arizona starting pitcher Mitch Bratt has a 5.08 ERA, 1.78 WHIP and a .295 opponents’ batting average.

To be fair, Bratt only has three appearances and 10.2 innings under his belt and will likely get pulled early. But the Diamondbacks’ bullpen is not great (4.04 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, .237 opponents’ batting average). With how well Abrams has been hitting, we should cash at plus-money odds.

Nasim Nunez Over 0.5 Hits (-138)

Nasim Nunez may only get one or two at-bats against Mitch Bratt, but that will be enough for the youngster to record a hit. Nunez did not have one on Friday, but he did hit safely in his previous four games and in five out of seven games since the break.
