Sunday’s Best MLB Player Props & Bets

    (Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Lucas Giolito Over 15.5 Outs (-125)

Lucas Giolito has found his groove lately, allowing one earned run or fewer in four of his last five starts. This includes six scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts in his previous outing against the Mariners.

We’ve seen Giolito get up to 90+ pitches in back-to-back starts - topping out at 98 - so 15.5 outs is a low bar for him to clear. The veteran righty has gone six or more innings in two straight outings, so 5.1 frames isn’t much to ask.

You have to like this spot in a pitcher-friendly environment in San Francisco, which is reflected in the 7.5-run full-game total.

Bet on Giolito to keep the good times rolling, going at least 5.1 innings in this spot.

Seth Lugo Under 2.5 Earned Runs (-130)

Seth Lugo is getting in a nice rhythm lately, giving up two earned runs or fewer in three consecutive outings. This includes six dominant innings of one-run ball and nine strikeouts against the Rangers in his most recent start.

We’ve seen Lugo have success against the Padres throughout his career. According to Baseball Savant, the veteran righty has registered a .244 xwOBA in 46 plate appearances versus current Padres hitters.

With that in mind, you have to like getting under 2.5 earned runs at a reasonable price (-130 odds).

Bet on Lugo to stay under this number for the fourth straight start.

Ryan Gusto Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+110)

Ryan Gusto is on a roll right now, racking up a combined 15 strikeouts (eight and seven strikeout performances) in his last two starts.

The Astros right-hander is much better against righties, allowing a .272 wOBA against them. The Angels have a righty-heavy lineup, so this gives Gusto a good chance at another strong outing.

It also helps that Los Angeles continues to strike out at a high rate, ranking 29th in strikeout rate versus right-handed pitchers in the last 14 days.

Add in the fact that we’re getting this one at plus money, and you can see why this looks appealing.
