Sunday’s Best MLB Player Props & Bets
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Taj Bradley Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-128)
Minnesota’s Taj Bradley has been building exciting momentum ahead of the All-Star break. The fourth-year hurler diced up the Astros with 11 strikeouts on July 1st, and then shut down the Guardians with 10 strikeouts on July 7th. A devastating cutter has been Bradley’s best friend. He throws it just 23.8% of the time, yet he has tallied 40 strikeouts and conceded a minuscule .270 slugging percentage on that pitch this campaign.
Sunday’s matchup gives Bradley a chance to sustain his progress. No MLB squad has struck out more than the Angels have in 2026 (909). It’s not a fluke, either, as Los Angeles sports the highest whiff rate (27.4%) and seventh-highest chase rate (32.1%) in the Majors. Overall, five opposing starters have already reached seven strikeouts facing the Angels this month. Bradley has the skill set to become the sixth.
Joey Cantillo Under 15.5 Outs Recorded (-155)
Let’s stick with the theme of momentum. The Marlins have posted the league’s second-highest OPS in July (.887) after they posted the league’s fourth-highest OPS in June (.798). Shortstop Otto Lopez boasts the highest batting average in baseball (.339). Outfielder Jakob Marsee and second baseman Xavier Edwards are among the top 25 players in walks (50 each). Miami’s roster is full of underrated pros who know how to get on base.
That puts Cleveland’s Joey Cantillo in a tough spot on Sunday. The Hawaii native has not been efficient, recording fewer than 16 outs in 12 of his 19 starts. Five of those performances came to a close before the fifth inning even ended. A high walk rate (11.5%) and a lackluster fastball (.295 batting average allowed) have contributed to those struggles. Take note that only three starting pitchers have surpassed 15 outs in Miami’s last 13 games. Expect a short outing from Cantillo.
Dansby Swanson to Hit a Home Run (+400)
Dansby Swanson is praised as a defensive wizard, but don’t overlook his bat. The Cubs wouldn’t be in a playoff spot without his production at the bottom of the lineup. The shortstop has settled into a groove, slashing .297/.330/.648 with nine home runs and 30 RBI during the past 30 days. Swanson has also been a steady force on the road, racking up 16 extra-base hits in 46 contests. Pete Crow-Armstrong (21) is the lone Cub with a higher total.
Up next for Swanson is a visit to Great American Ball Park, which ranks fifth in Statcast’s offensive park factors this year. Andrew Abbott will toe the rubber for the Reds. The left-hander has surrendered at least one homer in eight of his previous 10 starts and has registered an uninspired 4.72 ERA in nine home outings. Keep in mind that Swanson is 6-for-17 with two blasts in his career versus Abbott. Back him to go yard once again.
