Thursday's Best MLB Player Props
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Jose Ramirez 3+ Hits + Runs + RBIs (+208)
Cleveland’s best offensive player, Jose Ramirez, who is also the face of the franchise, made an uncharacteristic error in the field in Game 2, as he had a Little League grounder go right between the wickets, allowing three unearned runs to eventually score. That was the difference in Game 2, as the Rays evened up the series. It was a play Ramirez will file away, and use as motivation in Game 3.
Ramirez will be looking for redemption, and trying to take out his day on RHP Griffin Jax. The two do not have an extensive history, but Ramirez is 5-for-17 (.294) with a double, a walk, and three RBI against Jax, posting a .316 OBP. Expect an emotional Ramirez to accomplish this projection, and for the chance to double up, it’s worth a roll of the dice.
Patrick Bailey 2+ Hits + Runs + RBIs (+159)
Bailey was acquired by the Guardians at the trade deadline, and he and Austin Hedges have given Cleveland nice depth at the catcher position. It’s depth it has been craving for a long time, and the Guardians finally appear to have the position shored up.
Bailey has had a tremendous postseason, hitting .350 (7-for-20) with two homers, three RBI, five runs scored, and two walks, posting a .409 OBP, .650 SLG and 1.059 OPS across seven playoff games. If you’re a little more conservative, 1+ Hits + Runs + RBIs (-153) is still not priced out of line.
Tyler Glasnow Under 14.5 Outs Recorded (+101)
Glasnow is tasked with helping to extend the season for Los Angeles in Game 4. Who would have thought that would happen? Glasnow has the tools to spin a gem against the Brew Crew, but he has had issues with control in his past five outings.
Glasnow pitched the clincher in Game 4 of the NLDS against the Atlanta Braves, allowing one run and one hit in 4.2 IP, which is fine, but he also issued five walks. He has walked a total of 16 batters across 27 IP in his past five starts since September 5. As such, it’s hard to imagine manager Dave Roberts having a ton of patience with Glasgow at the first sign of trouble, as it is now of never for L.A.
Brice Turang 2+ Hits + Runs + RBIs (+118)
Turang, a Corona, Calif. native, has helped his Brewers get to the brink of a trip to the World Series. He went 1-for-4 with a run scored in Game 3, and he has hit safely five consecutive postseason games, including 4-for-9 (.444) with five runs scored, a double, a home run, and two RBI in the first three games of the season.
Turang gets a crack against Glasnow, and it’s the pitcher on the Dodgers he has the most extensive history against. It isn’t a lengthy history, but he is 3-for-11 (.273) with three strikeouts and a .545 OPS in his career against the L.A. righty. Look for the California boy to make good on this projection.
