Thursday’s Top MLB Player Props & Bets
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Jack Flaherty Over 2.5 Earned Runs (+117)
Let's get the day started in Motown, where I'll be on Jack Flaherty to allow three or more earned runs against the Angels. The right-hander has struggled mightily this season, entering the matinee matchup at 0-6 with a 5.94 ERA and a 1.66 WHIP. Flaherty has conceded three or more runs in three straight starts and in five of his last six outings.
Flaherty will face an Angels side that has been hitting the ball well over the last week, ranking fifth in wOBA (.345) and 12th in ISO (.165). The Halos' current roster has seen Flaherty well, going 18-for-59 (.305). I like the plus-money payout that comes with Flaherty allowing three or more runs.
Davis Martin Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+111)
The afternoon action continues in the Windy City, where the Twins and White Sox wrap up their four-game divisional series. Davis Martin has been elite for the Southsiders this season, going 7-1 with a 2.04 ERA (7th) and 66 strikeouts (22nd). The right-hander is averaging 6.6 strikeouts per start and has cleared 5.5 punchouts in five consecutive outings.
Martin has a decent track record against the Twins, with their current roster slashing .269/.377/.385 against him over 52 at-bats. Twelve of those 52 at-bats (23.1%) have ended in punchouts.
Over the last seven days, Minnesota has the seventh-highest strikeout rate (24.9%). That's pretty much on par with their season-long mark of 22.9% (11th-highest). Let's back Martin to clear this relatively low strikeout number.
George Springer 2+ Hits + Runs + RBIs (-128)
George Springer has registered two or more combined hits + runs + RBIs in four of his last seven games, and I'll be riding with him to do so again on Thursday evening. The Toronto slugger hasn't been overpowering this season with a .211 batting average, but he is hitting .292 with a .393 on-base percentage (OBP) and a .308 ISO over the last seven days.
Springer looks to stay hot against Baltimore's Chris Bassitt, against whom he's 8-for-20 (.400) lifetime, with two home runs and a double. Bassitt is a bottom-tier pitcher in 2026, going 4-3 with a 5.51 ERA and a 1.67 WHIP.
With Toronto's offense in great form, ranking seventh in wOBA (.333) over the last week, there should be a few quality chances to help Springer go over this combo prop.
Seiya Suzuki Under 0.5 Hits (+109)
My final player prop of the day is Seiya Suzuki to go hitless against Paul Skenes and the Pirates. Suzuki is in a massive slump, going hitless in his last six games (0-for-17). His batting average has dropped to a measly .234 this season.
Suzuki likely won't turn things around against Skenes. The Pirates ace hasn't been as dominant this year, but he still enters the divisional contest with a 3.00 ERA (21st) and a league-leading 0.82 WHIP. Suzuki is just 3-for-13 (.231) lifetime against Skenes. I like this bet on Suzuki to go hitless while it's in the plus-money range.
