MLB Player To Hit A Home Run Odds, Picks & Predictions: Saturday (9/9)
Who has a chance to go yard tonight in MLB, and what values are the books hanging out there for baseball bettors to take advantage of?
Here are my best bets to hit a home run today, Saturday, Sept. 9.
Saturday’s Best Player to Hit a Home Run Bets
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Kyle Schwarber (+215), Trea Turner (+370) & Bryce Harper (+330)
Among today’s starting pitchers with a minimum of 30 innings pitched, Marlins starter Johnny Cueto has the highest HR/9 (2.65). He has allowed at least two home runs in three straight starts and nine HRs over his last five starts.
Kyle Schwarber leads this Phillies offense in HRs (27) against right-handers and has had the most success against Cueto. In his career, Schwarber is 3-for-12, with all three hits being a HR.
Since the beginning of July, only the Atlanta Braves and Houston Astros have hit more HRs than the Phillies. Philadelphia also ranks second in the MLB in ISO (.223), behind only the Atlanta Braves.
Isaac Paredes (+425) & Brandon Lowe (+450)
The Seattle Mariners could go with a bullpen game on Saturday, but according to Daniel Kramer of MLB.com, Luke Weaver should serve as the starting pitcher against the Tampa Bay Rays. If this is the case, I like the matchup for the Rays.
Weaver has only started one game since being acquired by the Mariners, in which he only lasted 3.2 innings, giving up three runs and seven hits, including two HRs.
During his time with the Reds, Weaver had issues giving up the long ball, allowing 24 HRs in 21 starts.
Isaac Paredes leads the Rays offense in HRs against RHP (25) and at home (17). Brandon Lowe also does extremely well against RHP, as 18 of his 19 HRs have come against righties.
Brandon Drury (+320)
Lucas Giolito is making his second start for the Guardians, and it just happens to be against the team that just let him walk, the Angels.
It’s been a disappointing season for the right-hander. He is 7-12 with a 4.88 ERA. He has allowed three HRs in back-to-back starts and 11 HRs over his last six starts.
When Giolito was on the White Sox, he made two starts against the Angels in which he allowed a combined four HRs, one to Brandon Drury.
