MLB PrizePicks Player Predictions: Saturday (5/13)
Last Sunday proved to be a bounce back from the day prior's picks, which were truly bad by all accounts- but we are back to a near .500 overall record thanks to sharp calls (and appreciated performances) by Sandy Alcantara and Masataka Yoshida. We ended up being just one additional Mike Trout hit away from our first 3-0 day of picks. Today, we work towards achieving that easier-said-than-done goal thanks to another chock-full 15-game slate on a beautiful May weekend. Let's get to it.
MLB PrizePicks Player Predictions
Overall record: 5-7
Brandon Bielak Under 4.0 Pitcher Strikeouts
This line recently moved to 4.0 from 3.5 and I would have still been inclined to take the under here even at the initial prop line. Bielak has been serviceable in two appearances for Houston, but he has not looked like a true starting option or been treated as one. He has thrown just 75 and 87 pitches in his two outings, and has just six strikeouts across 8 2/3 total innings. This includes zero strikeouts thrown his last time out against Seattle, a team that strikes out at the second-highest rate across the MLB. Fade Bielak strikeouts against the White Sox on Saturday under the assumption that his leash will be shorter than most starting pitchers on the slate.
