MLB Same Game Parlay Odds & Picks for Friday, August 26 (2022)

As we approach the last month of the season, we have some very tight races within a couple of divisions and the Wild Card. Today we have three games that each have a team in those races, and as they look for a playoff spot, every game is important.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Chicago White Sox

  • Leg 1: White Sox -1.5 (+122)
  • Leg 2: Johnny Cueto Over 3.5 strikeouts (-163)
  • Leg 3: Eloy Jimenez to record over 2+ total bases (-120)

Johnny Cueto continues to be a redemption story as he began his year in the minors and is now a vital part of this rotation as the White Sox fight for a playoff spot. Every time he takes the bump, he gives the team a chance to win, as he’s allowed three or fewer runs in 16 of 18 starts and five straight quality starts. He’s coming into this game with a good history against an Arizona lineup with a .175 lifetime batting average.

The rookie Tommy Henry is off to an impressive start to his MLB career. In his last two starts, he only allowed three runs in the hitter-friendly Denver air, then allowed just one earned against a St. Louis lineup that had been hot this month.

He lost that last game as the Diamondbacks failed to give him run support against Miles Mikolas, which should happen again as they go on the road to face Cueto.

Chicago Cubs vs. Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers have struggled this month as they’re 8-14, lost their lead on the National League Central, and are last with a .199 batting average.

Freddy Peralta will have back-to-back starts against the Cubs. In his previous start, he pitched well, allowing just two earned in six innings. Unfortunately, Chicago would walk that off in the 10th.

Justin Steele has been a man of his namesake as he’s having an impressive sophomore season. The young lefty has seen the Brew Crew a few times this season and has been outstanding his last two, going 12.2 innings, allowing one earned with 18 strikeouts.

As Milwaukee struggles on offense recently along with the second-worst average against lefties (.215), Steele and Cubbies will get the win.

Colorado Rockies vs. New York Mets

  • Leg 1: Mets -1.5 (-142)
  • Leg 2: Dan Vogelbach to record an RBI (+150)
  • Leg 3: Over 7.5 (-112)
  • Leg 4: Randal Grichuk to record a hit (-145)

The Mets are in one of the tightest divisional races in the league and have held their own as they’ve been one of the top offenses this month.

They also now have the support of a healthy pitching staff, including Chris Basset. He’s been on his best run of the season, winning four straight starts with a 0.69 ERA.

Chad Kuhl will make his first start since coming off the IL with a hip strain. He struggled immensely previous to that, so you wonder if he was pitching injured or just ineffective,

Over his last six starts, he has a 10.17 ERA with opposing hitters batting .351. Not all of those outings can be blamed on the thin air of Denver, as three of those were road games, including the nine earned he allowed in San Diego.
