MLB Same Game Parlay Odds & Picks for Friday, July 22 (2022)

San Francisco Giants vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

  • Leg 1: Giants ML (+124)
  • Leg 2: Logan Webb over 4.5 strikeouts (-120)
  • Leg 3: Wilmer Flores over 2+ total bases (+125)
  • Leg 4: Darin Ruf to record a hit (-175)

The Dodgers went into the All-Star break winning 13 of the last 15 and are starting to gain a large lead in the NL West. Fifteen of their next 18 games are against divisional opponents, so they could really claim this division.

Tyler Anderson will go for the Dodgers and come into this game at 10-1 with a 2.96 ERA. For many teams, this would be the best in the rotation, but his ERA is fourth amongst Dodgers starters, and the 1.017 WHIP is third. This is why the rotation has the best ERA in the league.

Anderson might run into some trouble tonight, as the Giants hit well against lefties this year. Their power numbers have been especially good as they’re sixth in SLG (.444), sixth in wRC+ (118) and seventh in OPS (.770).

The Giants’ Logan Webb comes in with a team-high nine wins and 1.105 WHIP. This will be the first time he goes against the Dodgers this year, but he had success last year, allowing just four earned runs in 16 innings, with the Giants going 3-0 in those games.

I like Webb and his history against this team, helping get the Giants the win.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Cincinnati Reds

  • Leg 1: Cardinals -1.5 (+102)
  • Leg 2: Under 10 runs (-108)
  • Leg 3: Tommy Edman to record 2+ total bases (-115)

The Cardinals slumped earlier in July, but they ended the first half winning five of seven and are just one game off Milwaukee in the loss column.

Adam Wainwright will go for the Cards, and in the twilight of his career, the future Hall of Famer can still bring it as he comes in with a 3.00 ERA. He’ll face Cincinnati for the third time this season, and his last start was the better of the two, going seven innings, allowing three earned runs and striking out seven in the win.

The Reds will not look the same in a couple of weeks as they approach the trade deadline. You’ll see them try to rebuild by trading away some key assets.

Graham Ashcraft should be a part of their future, but the rookie is going through some growing pains. In his last start against the Cardinals, he allowed nine hits and four earned runs in 4.2 innings. His biggest problem is that he lives dangerously and throws pitches over the plate, giving up a ton of hits (10.2 per nine).

A good contact-hitting team like St. Louis will get to Ashcraft easily.

New York Yankees vs. Baltimore Orioles

  • Leg 1: Orioles ML (+138)
  • Leg 2: Tyler Wells over 4.5 strikeouts (-142)
  • Leg 3: Austin Hays to record 2+ total bases (+110)
  • Leg 4: Over 9 runs (-102)

Are the Orioles a playoff contender? They’ve had a fantastic July at 11-4, and sit only 3.5 games out of the Wild Card. The true test will be against the Yankees, who they’ve struggled against, going 4-9 this season.

Tyler Wells has been a big part of their recent success, as he’s improved throughout the season. In his first nine starts, he was 1-4 with a 4.30 ERA, and in his last nine, he’s 6-1 with a 2.64 ERA. He’s faced the Yankees twice this year, and both were good outings, tossing five innings and allowing two runs in each. In one case, the Orioles were shut out and the bullpen gave up the game. This Yankees roster has struggled against Wells, with a .157 lifetime average.

Jameson Taillon comes into this start heading towards a major regression. Over his last five starts, he has a 7.00 ERA and a 5.89 FIP, and a couple of those were against Oakland and Pittsburgh. He’s been leaving pitches in the zone and paying the price — even in the last start against Boston where he allowed one run, he still gave up a season-high 28.3-degree launch angle and a 46.7% hard-hit rate.

The Yankees lost both games of a doubleheader against Houston and expect them to lose the third straight tonight.
