MLB Same Game Parlay Odds & Picks for Saturday, August 20 (2022)

For today’s slate, looking at the team’s offense will be the key to putting together a winning parlay. We have two teams that have been one of the best lineups in baseball, and they have some favorable matchups to keep it going. Lastly, we have recently one of the worse offenses in the game, and we don’t expect it to play well today.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Chicago Cubs

  • Leg 1: Under 8.5 (-118)
  • Leg 2: Cubs ML (+110)
  • Leg 3: Chicago Cubs -1.5 tri-bet (+198)

Marcus Stroman’s first season with the Cubs has not gone the way he wanted to, but he’s having a much better second half with a 2.21 ERA in his last seven starts. He already has pitched well against the Brewers, giving up just one earned in 12 innings. The Milwaukee lineup has been terrible as their .202 average and 100 hits are the fewest in August.

Freddy Peralta has been solid since returning from the IL with a 3.55 ERA in three starts. The biggest concern is how long he will go in this game, as he’s only pitched past the fifth twice in 11 starts this season. In his last start, he threw over 70 pitches since his return, but he labored throughout as that was in just four innings.

You have to continue to fade the Brewers as the offense struggles.

Chicago White Sox vs. Cleveland Guardians

  • Leg 1: Over 7.5 (-108)
  • Leg 2: White Sox ML (+150)
  • Leg 3: Under 0.5 runs in the first inning (-136)

Johnny Cueto continues his fantastic story as he began the year in the minors and now is one of the top guys in this Chicago rotation. He has been significantly better in the second half going 3-1 with a 2.25 ERA in his last eight starts. The Pale Sox offense that has been inconsistent all season has been on a great run as they lead the league in BABIP (.338) and are third in AVG (.279).

Shane Bieber was excellent in his first two starts against the White Sox but recently got knocked around for six earned a couple of weeks ago, and Chicago has been on that fantastic run ever since.

Today is a good day to back Cueto and White Sox.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

  • Leg 1: Over 9 (-105)
  • Leg 2: Cardinals ML (-154)
  • Leg 3: Over 1.5 runs in the first inning (+210)

No other lineup has been better in baseball than the St. Louis Cardinals. In August, they’re leading the league across the board in every significant offensive category, and it’s helped them immensely as they’re 12-3 and went from two games behind in the NL Central to three games up.

The Red Bird may need to continue that offensive power with Dakota Hudson on the mound. He’s been inconsistent as of late with a 5.41 ERA in his last nine starts and has not been able to get past the sixth inning in seven of them.

They thankfully are facing Madison Bumgarner, whom they’ve had success against, as the roster is collectively batting .288 with a .531 SLG against him in 226 at-bats. He’s also been very inconsistent all season and is recently 0-3 with a 7.33 ERA in his last four starts.

With this pitching matchup, this game could go either way, but the Cardinals have hit the over recently, it’s a good game to wager on the offense.
