MLB Same Game Parlay Odds & Picks for Saturday, August 27 (2022)

It’s the final Saturday in August as we head into the season’s last month. Today is a day to back the offense, as we have some struggling pitchers taking the mound. In fact, one of these pitchers will be pitching for this third team this season.

Let’s all dig the long ball and longer parlays.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Boston Red Sox

  • Leg 1: Over 8.5 (-122)
  • Leg 2: Xander Bogaerts to record 3+ total bases (+250)
  • Leg 3: Rafael Devers to record 2+ total bases (+115)

After spending a month on the IL, the veteran Rich Hill has struggled to put together a good outing as he has a 7.50 ERA with hitters batting .320 in his last three starts. He’s faced an excellent Houston and Atlanta lineup, whom both shelved him, while he was good against the Pirates, allowing just two earned. Tampa Bay’s lineup has been hitting better recently as they’re eighth in wRC+ (113), and their .286 lifetime average against Hill means they could have another good day.

The Rays are happy they’ve brought Jefferey Springs into the rotation as he’s 5-3 with a 2.74 ERA in 16 starts. On July 5th, he faced the Red Sox lineup that was one of the best offensively at the time and struggled, allowing three earned in just four innings. Since then, the Boston lineup has plummeted, but over the last couple of weeks, they have the best BABIP (.365) and third-best average (.284).

I’m looking to ride some offensive production for this game.

Detroit Tigers vs. Texas Rangers

  • Leg 1: Over 8 (-105)
  • Leg 2: Tigers -1.5 (+162)
  • Leg 3: Corey Seager to record 2+ total bases (+100)
  • Leg 4: Marcus Semien to score a run (-125)

It has been a rough year for Dallas Keuchel. He will make his debut for the Texas Rangers after being released from the Diamondbacks, which they got him after the White Sox released him. He’ll face a former divisional foe, and coincidentally, he also faced the Detroit in his D-Backs debut. That outing did not go well, allowing four earned in 4.1 innings.

Eduardo Rodriguez pitched well in his return after missing three months with five shutout innings against the Angels. His history with the Texas lineup is unfavorable as this roster is batting  .283 lifetime off him.

Altogether both lineups have been solid over the last couple of weeks as Texas has the seven-best batting average, and Detroit is tenth in BABIP. I still can’t back Keuchel, so take the Tigers in a high-scoring game.

Colorado Rockies vs. New York Mets

  • Leg 1: Over 8 (-108)
  • Leg 2: Mets -1.5 ( -115)
  • Leg 3: Over 0.5 runs scored in the first inning (+106)

The Mets have an outstanding balance of hitting and pitching, and when the rotation took a hit during the season, David Peterson was one of those pieces that kept this team going. He’s been switching between the bullpen and rotation, but he’s been a much better starter and hasn’t allowed more than three earned in his last eight starts.

Kyle Freeland has not been able to come out with a good start in a while. In his previous nine outings, he has a 5.96 ERA and has allowed five or more in four of them. He comes in with the team losing in his last three starts, and they’ll have to deliver a lot of run support against a good Mets lineup.
