MLB Same Game Parlay Odds & Picks for Saturday, July 2 (2022)

For this Saturday, we have featured one of the best pitchers in the league going against one of the better offenses. a clash of two titans, and we’ll see who comes out on top.

We’re also giving you a big parlay as one of the first-place teams has a great chance to have a great day against a last-place team.

Oakland Athletics vs. Seattle Mariners

  • Leg 1: Mariners -1.5 (+120)
  • Leg 2: Under 7.5 (-110)
  • Leg 3: George Kirby over 5.5 strikeouts (-104)

The Athletics don’t have much to play for this season as they cleaned house in the off-season and are looking to rebuild.

Paul Blackburn could be the foundation as he’s their most dependable starter this season after years of bouncing up and down through the farm system and making spots starts throughout the last five years. With most of the rotation trading away this off-season, he’s established himself.

He establishes early in the count with the sinker, but he has a fantastic 12-to-6 curveball he uses as his knock-out pitch with a 37.3 strikeout rate.

His worst start came against the Mariners on June 22, allowing seven earned in the loss.

On the other side will be George Kirby, and the Mariners’ No. 2 prospect is coming off the worse start of his young career, getting rocked by Baltimore for seven earned.

He has some great stuff as he can approach the upper 90s with his fastball, keeps hitters off-balance with his mid-80s off-speed pitches, and has excellent control as he’s averaging just above one walk per nine.

He has two starts against the A’s this season. He allowed four earned in a no-decision in the first one, and the second was six shutout innings with six strikeouts.

Great idea to back Kirby with the Oakland’s lineup continuing its downtrend as they’re last in batting average, slugging, and OPS. Blackburn has hit a rough patch, and the Seattle bats have continued to do well, including eight in OBP (.325) and tenth in ISO (.182) in June.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Toronto Blue Jays (Game 1)

  • Leg 1: Rays ML (+120)
  • Leg 2: Under 7 (+100)
  • Leg 3: Shane McClanahan over 6.5 strikeouts

Shane McClanahan will be on the shortlist for AL Cy Young at the end of the year. He’s currently leading all starters with a 1.77 ERA and is second with 123 strikeouts and a 0.083 WHIP. He has eye-popping electric stuff with his fastball and breaking pitches having almost a ten MPH difference, which is why his whiff rate is in the 97th percentile.

On the side is Kevin Gausman, who’s also been efficient this season as he’s allowed three earned runs or less in 13 of 15 starts. He already pitched against the Rays this season and got a quality start by pitching seven innings, allowing three earned and striking out seven.

That’s not going to be enough, as it’s been nearly impossible to score off McClanahan. Toronto has been good against lefties this year as they’re third with a .273 average, but McClanahan has great starts against Boston and St. Louis, who are also in the top five against lefties.

Baltimore Orioles vs. Minnesota Twins

  • Leg 1: Twins -1.5 (-110)
  • Leg 2: Carlos Correa to record two hits (+195)
  • Leg 3: Jordan Lyles under 4.5 strikeouts (-168)
  • Leg 4: Sonny Gray over 5.5 strikeouts (+106)

While Baltimore isn’t going anywhere besides the golf course in October, they may be heading in the right direction. The offense has been much better recently, including winning five of their last nine and putting four or more runs in five of nine.

They will need the offense to keep clicking with Jordan Lyles on the mound, who’s struggled all season. He’s heading into this start, allowing the most hits this season with 97, and has been much worse on the road with a 6.47 ERA compared to 2.92 when starting at Camden Yards.

The Twins starter Sonny Gray has found a great situation in Minnesota, as he’s having the best season of his career. His current 2.17 ERA is much better than his 3.55 career ERA, and he also has career lows in hits per nine (6.7) and walks per nine (2.)

Even though Baltimore is getting better on offense, they’re still not better than the Twins this season. Sonny Gray has incredible success against this roster with a lifetime of .228, and the Twins roster is hitting .321.
