MLB Same Game Parlay Odds & Picks for Sunday, August 14 (2022)

Let’s cap off the weekend with some parlays. We’ll feature the Sunday Night Matchup that will have some more of an offensive spark than in the previous game in this series. We also feature a previous matchup that was pretty exciting to watch, then we have to see if the hottest team in baseball can keep the winning streak alive.

New Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox

  • Leg 1: Over 9.5 (+100)
  • Leg 2: Jameson Taillon Under 4.5 strikeouts (-102)
  • Leg 3: Anthony Rizzo to record 2+ hits (+250)

Jameson Taillon will be on the mound for the Yankees, and he’s not pitched as well in the second half. He started the year going 8-1 with a 2.70 ERA in his first 13 starts, but he has an abysmal 5.89 ERA in the last nine.  The long ball has hurt him by allowing 12 home runs in his previous nine starts, which includes three against the Red Sox the last time he pitched at Fenway.

Michael Wacha will make his first start for the Red Sox in a month and a half as he missed time due to shoulder inflammation. Before the injury, he was having one of his best seasons in a long time, going 6-1 with a 2.69 ERA. The significant change is that he doesn’t overly use the four-seamer as much, and the balance of that and the changeup has led to his success.

Oakland Athletics vs. Houston Astros

  • Leg 1: Under 8 (-110)
  • Leg 2: Cristian Javier Over 6.5 strikeouts (-128)
  • Leg 3: Yordan Alvarez to record 2+ total bases (-120)

We will have a rematch of a game a few weeks back between Cristian Javier and Cole Irvin, with the Athletics getting the 4-2 win in that game.

Javier was solid in that outing and only made three mistakes, but two were home runs. He’s been good against the A’s this year by allowing just four runs in nine inns. While the 6-8 record looks terrible, he’s been good even in losses as Houston is averaging just 3.15 runs in his starts.

Irvin was incredible in that start going seven and allowing just two earned in the win. Irvin has been a shining light in this forgettable season for Oakland and has an incredible 1.88 ERA in his last seven starts. He unfortunately also suffers from a lack of run support as the team is only averaging 2.73 runs per game in his starts.

We’ve seen both pitchers have great starts against these teams, and while this game could go either way, expect a lower-scoring matchup.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Kansas City Royals

  • Leg 1: Dodgers -1.5 (-150)
  • Leg 2: Under 9 (-110)
  • Leg 3: Tyler Anderson under 4.5 strikeouts (+106)

The Dodgers are coming into today as the hottest team in baseball as they ride a 13-game winning streak.

They’re the only team with a sub-3.00 ERA and are doing it without Clayton Kershaw and Walker Buehler.

One of those contributors is Tyler Anderson, who is having a breakout season going 13-1 with a 2.72 ERA, 0.997 WHIP, and his first all-star appearance. He has been especially incredible over his few starts with a 1.83 ERA, and the team is 7-0 in those starts.

Brady Singer has recently been on a good run with a 2.45 ERA in his last seven starts. Some of these starts have come from lower-tier teams like the Tigers and against inconsistent offenses like the White Sox and Guardians. The Dodgers will be the best and hottest lineup he’s seen all season.
