New York Mets vs. Atlanta Braves
This is the series of the weekend as these two teams come in tied, and it could determine the National League East. We have a tremendous first matchup as the team's best two pitchers will square off.
You have to go back to June 14th as the last time Max Fried allowed more than three earned runs in a start and hasn't allowed more than two in his previous nine. Although he has a 1.96 ERA in that span, the team is just 5-4 in those starts as the Braves are giving just 3.2 runs of support per start, including two or fewer in five.
They'll face a Jacob deGrom who has not been his usual self. He's allowed three or more earned in three straights, something he hasn't done since 2017. His last start against the Braves was another one where he allowed three earned in a loss against Fried.
The Braves struggled offensively up until the series with Washington. That should be the jumpstart they need, along with a good performance by Fried to take the first game.

Washington Nationals vs. Philadelphia Phillies
- Leg 1: Phillies -1.5 (+100)
- Leg 2: Over 8.5 (–110)
- Leg 3: Sandy Alcantara over 9.5 strikeouts (-130)
Phillies are plummeting late in the season as they've seen their lead for the last Wild Card dwindle to just half a game. They'll have a chance for a big boost as they play two today.
Bailey Falter had allowed three or fewer runs in seven straight starts until he was shelved by allowing six to Braves. He'll get a great matchup against the offensively struggling Nationals, and the Phillies have won both of his previous starts against Washington.
Eric Fedde is part of the struggling Nats rotation and is coming in, having lost six of the last seven decisions. One of those was against the Phillies, allowing just four earned in just 3.2 innings.
Philadelphia has struggled at the plate recently, and a big reason they've lost seven of their last ten. This is an excellent opportunity to right the ship before it tips over.

Miami Marlins vs. Milwaukee Brewers
The Brewers could jump into that last Wild Spot if Philadelphia struggles today.
They'll have Corbin Burnes on the mound, but they won't have the same guy that was an early Cy Young candidate. He's struggled in the second half of the season, especially over the last few weeks going just 3-3 with a 5.26 ERA. He saw the Marlins back in May, allowing just one earned in seven innings, but he was leading the NL in ERA at the time; thankfully, the marlins still are bad offensively.
Sandy Alcantara is the guy you don't want to see on the other side. He continues to be untouchable with a 2.10 ERA in his last four starts, and the Marlins have won three of them.
Miami does struggle offensively, but Alcantara doesn't need much run support, and they should get enough runs to grab the win.
Parlay Odds: +566 via FanDuel
