MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Monday, September 12 (2022)

As we enter the second week of September we still have a ton of races for a playoff spot. Not only are teams still fighting to get into the playoffs, but also, seeding is important as the top two seeds get a bye into the division series.

We have a few teams featured today that are involved in those races.

Houston Astros vs. Detroit Tigers

  • Leg 1: Astros -1.5 (-105)
  • Leg 2: Framber Valdez Over 6.5 strikeouts (-122)
  • Leg 3: Trey Mancini to record 2+ total bases (+135)

The Astros have one of the best pitching staffs in the league with a 2.96 ERA, and the starting rotation has a 3.05 ERA, both best in the American League.

Framber Valdez continues to be a vital part of this staff and is in the midst of his best run as he’s allowed two or fewer runs in five straight starts. He has a previous start against the Tigers this year, giving up two earned against a Tigers offense that continues to struggle.

Eduardo Rodriguez was supposed to be part of this Tigers team built to compete, but he missed a couple of months due to injury in another disappointing season in Detroit. He pitched well in the first few starts since his return, but the American League West has not been kind to him and has allowed a total of eight earned in the previous two starts against the Angels and Mariners.

Valdez and the Stros should cruise to a win.

Atlanta Braves vs. San Fransisco Giants

  • Leg 1: Braves -1.5 (-113)
  • Leg 2: Spencer Strider Over 7.5 strikeouts (+102)
  • Leg 3: Under 7.5 total runs (-122)

Spencer Strider has been one of the more exciting new pitchers on the scene and is a heavy favorite to win National League Rookie of the Year. He has a hard fastball that clocks in triple digits, leading to tons of strikeouts, and he just broke the Braves’ single-game record (16).

Alex Cobb has improved this season with a 2.72 ERA over his last eight starts. Unfortunately, the mix of no support and a bad bullpen had him going 2-2 in that time.

We’ll definitely see something similar when facing Strider and the Braves.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

  • Leg 1: Dodgers -1.5 (-144)
  • Leg 2: Tyler Anderson Under 4.5 strikeouts (-108)
  • Leg 3: Freddie Freeman to record 2+ total bases (-130)
  • Leg 4: Ketel Marte to record a hit (-220)

The Dodgers became the first to lock down a playoff berth and are clearly the team to beat in the league. They’ve done it all year with both the offense and pitching being near the top of the league. Tyler Anderson is part of this talented rotation and has been nearly untouchable in the second half of the season, going 5-2 with a 2.13 ERA in his last ten starts.

Ryne Nelson will get his second career start after shutting down the Padres for seven scoreless inning ls and seven strikeouts in his debut.

He was able to beat a struggling Padres lineup, but he won’t get that same luck tonight.
