MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Monday (9/19)

After today, just two more Mondays in the regular season. There is still some excitement with division and Wild Card races still to be determined.

For today’s smaller slate, all three games feature at least one team in one of these playoff races, so every win counts.

Washington Nationals vs. Atlanta Braves

  • Leg 1: Braves -1.5 (-156)
  • Leg 2: Ronald Acuna Jr. to record over 2+ total bases (-115)
  • Leg 3: Kyle Wright over 4.5 strikeouts (+120)

The Braves are knocking on the door of the Mets in the National League East and just completed a sweep of the Phillies. Now they get a prime opportunity for more wins as they host the last-place Nationals.

Kyle Wright is part of this young Atlanta pitching staff that has been hard to break through this season. Wright has a real shot of 20 wins as he leads the league with 18 with possibly three more starts, including today. He’s been excellent against the struggling Nats going seven innings in both starts and earning two wins.

After being released earlier in the year by the Giants, Cory Abbott was picked up by the Nationals and has moved up and down from Triple-A to DC. He’s also appeared out of the bullpen and has made spot starts.

Given Wright’s success throughout the season and against the Nationals, I don’t see an occasional starter coming away with a win.

Washington Nationals vs. Atlanta Braves

  • Leg 1: Mets ML (-104)
  • Leg 2: Under 7 (-122)
  • Leg 3: Max Scherzer over 6.5 strikeouts (-108)
  • Leg 4: Corbin Burnes over 6.5 strikeouts (-150)

Max Scherzer is still pitching as well as ever and coming into today’s start with a 2.54 ERA in his last six starts. The problem you sometimes see when teams have outstanding pitchers on the mound is a lack of urgency to score. The Mets are just 1-4 in his last five starts and have lost games 2-1 and 1-0 in that span.

Corbin Burnes looked like he was going to be in the National League Cy Young race this year but fell off towards the end of the season. Over his last nine starts, he’s just 2-3 with a 4.47 ERA.

I know he can only participate every fifth day, but as he began this dip, so did the Brewers. On Aug. 2, they were two games up in the National League Central, and coming into today, they’re eight games out.

Besides supporting “Mad Max,” the Mets continue to be one of the best offenses in the MLB, and they’ll push to get him a win against the struggling Brew Crew.

Seattle Mariners vs. Los Angeles Angels

  • Leg 1: Mariners ML (-138)
  • Leg 2: J.P. Crawford to record over 2+ total bases (+150)
  • Leg 3: Logan Gilbert over 5.5 strikeouts (-116)

The Mariners are still in the mix to grab that top Wild Card spot, which means you host that first-round best-of-three series.

Logan Gilbert has been part of this young core of players that is getting Seattle fans excited for the future. He’s been incredible with a 1.59 ERA in his last five outings and had two excellent starts against the Angels back in June.

Jose Suarez had two great starts against the Mariners in June when they were still underachieving. However, when he saw them in mid-August, he was shelved in a loss. He will see that team again as they’re 10th in wRC+ (121) and ninth in SLG (.435) since Sept. 5.

This is a great spot for Gilbert and the Mariners to get a win to start the week.
