New York Mets at St. Louis Cardinals

Looking at the landscape of the National League Central, it's likely the Cardinals will not be competing for a division title. The lineup has injuries, Paul Goldschmidt is struggling, and the rotation isn't producing much. One guy who is excelling is Sonny Gray, who has a 1.87 ERA and has walked just one batter through 17 innings.

The Mets were hot a couple of weeks ago by winning six straight, but they have quickly fallen, losing four of their last five. The pitching and the hitting have both been atrocious, with them batting .224 and 5.73 ERA in those five games. Adrian Houser got shelled in his last start against the Dodgers, going just four innings and allowing eight earned runs.

It should be a better outing for Houser, but Gray is off to a Cy Young-worthy start at the moment, and the Cardinals should grab the win and the series.

Los Angeles Dodgers at Toronto Blue Jays

In the first game of this series, the Dodgers went up big early with a six-run third inning and cruised to a victory. After losing five of the six, they've now won five straight, and with everyone else in the NL West still playing average, they could start to build a league. Grabbing Tyler Glasnow in the offseason was a great choice, as he starts the season with his pitching run value at a +7 and four quality starts in his six outings.

It's early in the season, but the Blue Jays are playing inconsistently. They are coming into this game having lost four straight, but if you take away last night, they have only allowed seven runs in the previous three games. However, the hitting continues to struggle, as they've plated just seven runs in the previous four. Jose Berrios and Yusei Kikuchi have been anchoring this rotation, and even with Kikuchi getting only three runs of support per game, he's won his last two starts.

Some of the Dodgers’ big bats have great numbers against Kikuchi, including Shoehei Ohtani (6-of-20) and Teoscar Hernandez (6-of-11). Combine that with Glasnow this year, and the Dodgers should win.
