MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Saturday (5/20)

The weather is getting warmer, and we’re fully into the MLB season. Let’s look at interesting matchups for tonight.

Saturday’s Best MLB Same Game Parlay Bets

Colorado Rockies at Texas Rangers

  • Leg 1: Rangers -1.5 (+100)
  • Leg 2: OVER 8.5 Runs (-120)
  • Leg 3:Marcus Semien To Record 2+ Total Bases (-110)

The Rangers took the series opener against the Rockies 7-2 behind Martin Perez’s solid outing. The bats have been significant recently, as they are scoring 5.8 runs per game over their last six, but the pitching, with a 5.50 ERA, has hurt them. It will be Jon Gray as he faces his old team, and he’s on a good run with a 2.73 ERA and three quality starts in his last four outings.

The Rockies have now dropped five of their last seven series openers, but on a positive note, they’ve won three of their last four series. Kyle Freeland is on a great run at the moment with a 1.88 ERA in his previous four starts but is credited with two losses due to lack of support, as the team is only averaging 3.35 runs in his outings.

I like Gray in a revenge game and, with the Rockies’ bats and an awful bullpen, Texas will grab the series win today.

Parlay Odds: +600

Detroit Tigers at Washington Nationals

  • Leg 1: Nationals Moneyline (-104)
  • Leg 2: UNDER 9.5 Runs (-120)
  • Leg 3: Alex Fado UNDER 3.5 Strikeouts (-122)

The Tigers are under .500 but are still in contention in the AL Central by sitting just 2.5 games behind Minnesota. The offense is at the bottom in hits, average and on-base percentage, so it’s been the pitching that has saved them, allowing the fourth-fewest hits and fifth-lowest on-base percentage. Alex Fado will get his third start since being called up, and he’s okay with keeping hitters off base, but he’s being a victim of the long ball by giving up two home runs in both starts.

He might be in good shape against the Nationals, who are 23rd in hard-hit percentage against righties and 27th in home run to fly ratio. They’ll be sending up Patrick Corbin, and with how well he’s pitched recently, has he finally figured it out? Corbin is on one of the best stretches in years and has a 3.47 ERA in his last six outings with five quality starts.

The Nats are only a slight underdog at home, but I like them to pull off the upset.

Minnesota Twins at Los Angeles Angels

  • Leg 1: Angels Moneyline (-126)
  • Leg 2: OVER 9 Runs (-102)
  • Leg 3: Angels First Five Moneyline (+110)

The Twins are in first place in the AL Central, but at 24-21, they do not have a stronghold on that lead. The pitching staff is the catalyst for this team, and they’re leading in strikeout percentage and second in opponent batting average. Louie Varland has incredible stuff with his strikeout percentage and whiff rate over the 75th percentile, and lately, his been keeping the ball away from the heart of the plate.

The Angels may finally have the pieces surrounding Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani to make a run, as the lineup is third in home runs and fourth in runs scored. Patrick Sandoval excelled last year in his first full season in the big leagues for the Angels. He’s continuing that momentum, and while some of the metrics aren’t up to par, he’s been getting a lot of run support.

One thing the Angels’ offense improved on from last year was the strikeouts going from last in strikeout percentage in 2022 to tenth this season. That will help against Varland’s swing-and-miss abilities.

Parlay Odds: +646
