The weather is getting warmer, and we’re fully into the MLB season. Let’s look at interesting matchups for tonight.

Miami Marlins at Los Angeles Angels

The Marlins are .500 again with their win Friday and are only 5.5 games out of first, so it will be interesting to see if this team can remain in contention and make their second playoff appearance in the last 20 years. Edward Cabrera is an exciting young pitcher to watch. He has impressive swing-and-miss stuff, and he’ll be great when he improves his control.

The Angels’ offense has gotten much better this year and as a result, they could actually be competitors this season. This is especially true when they have Shohei Ohtani on the mound and, although it’s been a rough May for him on the mound, LA is 3-1 in his starts.

I’m taking Ohtani all day in this pitching matchup and with the better Angels’ lineup in what could be a fun potential pitchers’ duel.

Parlay Odds: +545

San Diego Padres at New York Yankees

After winning five straight, the Yankees have dropped three straight, including the opener to the Padres. Luis Severino was great in his first start of the season, going 4.2 innings, allowing one earned and five strikeouts.

For as much money the Padres have spent on their roster, it’s been a disappointing season. What’s most concerning is that the lineup filled with power is 21st in slugging and 22nd in hard-hit percentage. It’s been an interesting few years for Michael Wacha as he plays on his fourth team in four seasons. Playing in the AL East the previous two years, he’s seen the Yankees, and in his last seven starts against them, he’s given up two earned just twice.

This looks good for San Diego, as they can take the series today.

Parlay Odds: +648

Pittsburgh Pirates at Seattle Mariners

  • Leg 1: Mariners -1.5 (+110)
  • Leg 2: UNDER 7.5 Runs (-110)
  • Leg 3: Race to 1 Run Mariners (-120)

The Pirates were a feel-good story to start the year but we’re slowly seeing those good vibes diminish. May hasn’t treated them well, as they’re 6-15 with a -30 run differential.

The Mariners are trending in the right direction as they are 14-9 this month and are moving back into the AL West race. They’ll send up their ace Luis Castillo who’s had a rough May going 1-2 with a 4.70 ERA, and that’s even with the six shutout innings against Oakland.

He’s catching an opportune time to face a struggling team, and I feel good about his chances being 3-1 with a 2.16 ERA this year at home.

Parlay Odds: +635
