Atlanta Braves vs. Philadelphia Phillies

  • Leg 1: Braves ML(-156)
  • Leg 2: Austin Riley to record over 2+ total bases (+105)
  • Leg 3:Under 8 (-105)

This is the most exciting series of the weekend, with both teams needing wins. The Phillies have grabbed both wins so far as they hold onto a small lead for the last Wild Spot, while the Braves’ aspirations of winning the National League East get slimmer as they continue to lose.

Kyle Wright will be going for the milestone 20th win, and with his success against the Phillies, you like his chances. He has two quality starts out of two and should put himself in a position to win. The Atlanta bats have been quiet, scoring just six runs in their last four games and a three-game losing streak, so Wright could have a slim margin of error today.

Bailey Falter has moved through the farm system for the entire season, but when he’s on the mound for the big club, he’s been dependable. He’s 5-0 with a 2.36 ERA over his last six starts, including allowing one earned against the Braves in his previous outing.

The Braves are struggling at the wrong time as they try to make a push for the National League East. Wright has excellent momentum as he would love to be the first 20-game winner this year, and the Braves will make the adjustments against a young pitcher.

New York Mets vs. Oakland Athletics

  • Leg 1: Mets -2.5 (-118)
  • Leg 2: Francisco Lindor to record and RBI (+125)
  • Leg 3: Jacob deGrom over 9.5 strikeouts (+118)

The Mets are narrowly holding onto the National League East, but thankfully they have one of the easiest schedules for the remainder of the season, including this weekend against Athletics.

Jacob deGrom is in a good spot as he faces Oakland, which is 20th with a .290 OBP and 24th with a .220 batting average over the last two weeks. deGrom, you could say, is “struggling” by his standards as he’s allowed three earned in back-to-back starts, something he hasn’t done since 2019.

It’s been rough for rookie Ken Waldichuk as a September call-up. Oakland has yet to record a win in either of his four starts, and he’s been shelved with five earned in back-to-back outings.

The Mets continue to find ways to get on base and score with second-best OBP (.362) and wRC+ (130) since September 6th. They should score plenty of runs against a struggling rookie pitcher.

Seattle Mariners vs. Kansas City Royals

  • Leg 1: Mariners -1.5 (-110)
  • Leg 2: Ty France to record over 2+ total bases (-120)
  • Leg 3: Over 8 (-106)
  • Leg 4:  Logan Gilbert over 5.5 strikeouts (+118)

The Mariners hold the last American League Wild Card spot, but that race is so close, and they could climb over Toronto and Tampa Bay by the end of the season for that first position.

The rookie Logan Gilbert is a part of this young core of Mariners players that could be playing October baseball for years to come. He’s been untouchable as of recently with a 0.91 ERA and has two six-inning shutout performances.

Kris Bubic and the Royals are trending in the complete opposite direction. He has lost seven consecutive starts, and it’s exactly two months since the last time he got a win. It wouldn’t be wise to back him in and Kansas City as they’re absurdly outmatched.
