MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Sunday (9/18)

With just two weeks left in the season, there are still a ton of races that haven’t been settled. There are still division and Wild Cards races, but for some teams in the new playoff format, seeding is also important when it comes to home-field advantage and first-round byes.

Atlanta Braves vs. Philadelphia Phillies

• Leg 1: Braves -1.5 (-118)
• Leg 2: Dansby Swanson to record 2+ total bases (+105)
• Leg 3: Spencer Strider over 7.5 strikeouts (-150)

The Braves love to complete the series sweep of the Phillies as they are locked into one of the tightest races in the league.

They have the guy for the job as Spencer Strider currently has the second-best odds to win National League Rookie of the Year, according to Vegas Insider. He's one of the more exciting up-and-comers as his fastball can hit the triple-digits and, as a result, has 13.8 strikeouts per nine.

The Phillies will counter with a rising young starter themselves. Bailey Falter has been incredible in his second season, and the Phillies are 6-0 in his last six starts. This has been against the Marlins, Pirates, Diamondbacks, and Mets, so this will be the best lineup he's seen during this stretch.

Every game is significant for the Braves, and I love Strider in this spot coming up big.

Cincinnati Reds vs. St. Louis Cardinals

• Leg 1: Cardinals -1.5 (-126)
• Leg 2: Albert Pujols to record an RBI (+145)
• Leg 3: Jordan Montgomery under 4.5 strikeouts (-134)

Sometimes a new beginning is all you need, which is undoubtedly the case for Jordan Montgomery. He has been incredible since being traded to the Cardinals going 5-1 with a 2.08 ERA in seven starts.

For some, unfortunately, it means the same old thing. Montgomery’s former teammate on the Yankees, Luis Cessa, has struggled for the Reds since moving to the rotation as he's 0-2 with a 4.84 ERA in his last five starts. He's hoping he can have the same results as his relief appearances against the Cardinals, as he hasn't given up a run in three innings this year.

Even if Cessa pitches well, there is zero confidence he'll get any run support against Montgomery.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Francisco Giants

• Leg 1: Dodgers -1.5 (-110)
• Leg 2: Freddie Freeman to record 2+ total bases (+145)
• Leg 3: Andrew Heaney over 6.5 strikeouts (-134)

Andrew Heaney has unfortunately dealt with shoulder issues throughout the season, but when he's on the mound, he's been having a career year. Currently, he has a career-best 2.84 ERA, 13.3 strikeouts per nine, and 7.3 hits per nine. He's another example of a new Dodgers pitcher coming and making an immediate impact.

Alex Cobb has been the same case as he's dealt with his injuries this season but has pitched well in he's on the mound. In his last six starts, he's 3-0 with a 1.75 ERA, but his worse start during this stretch has been against the Dodgers, going just 4.2 innings and allowing three earned.

The Dodgers have their division wrapped up but still would like to get the top seed in the National League. I have them getting a sweep in The Bay tonight.
