MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Thursday (5/18)

With another limited Thursday slate, let’s take a look at two strong SGPs I have for today.

Thursday's Best MLB Same Game Parlay Bets

Tampa Bay Rays vs. New York Mets

The Rays and Mets will face off in New York today for the third game of their series as they are split 1-1 now. It's a righty vs righty matchup on the mound, with Taj Bradley pitching for the Rays and Tylor Megill pitching for the Mets.

These pitchers have been solid in 2023, with Bradley boasting a 3-0 record and Megill is sitting at 4-2. Megill’s 4+ ERA shows hitters have gotten after him a little bit despite the record. I expect more of that today after the Rays lost a heartbreaker in the 10th inning yesterday

Look for the Rays to get after Megill. I especially like Bradon Lowe to record a single and continue his recent tear. Lowe was in a bad slump but has since produced six hits in his past four games and has found his rhythm at the plate. Randy Arozarena is also on a nice run, with six RBIs in his past five games. He will have opportunities to knock guys in today as I expect the top of the order to find some success against Megill.

In the end, I like the Rays to bounce back today after a tough loss in extras yesterday.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. St. Louis Cardinals

The Dodgers will visit St. Louis tonight to kick off a four-game series against the Cardinals.

Julio Urias looks to improve to 6-3 after an up-and-down season to this point. In the second half of April, Urias had a rare 3 straight losses before picking it back up in May (2-0, 2.29 ERA). I like the Dodgers' offense to get going against the veteran Adam Wainwright. The righty didn’t start a game until May and he has given up 4+ ER in his two starts this season.

James Outman draws a plus matchup against Wainwright, and I expect him to build off of yesterday’s game (2-for-4 with a grand slam) and find another base hit today. Freddie Freeman also has a good matchup and is on a nice 7-game hitting streak with nine RBIs in that span. I like him to knock in another run today in what should be a high-scoring game for the Dodgers.

I like Outman and Freeman to have their way against Wainwright today and ultimately, I have the Dodgers taking the first game of this series in St. Louis.
