MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Wednesday (4/9)

We're back! We've had a bit of an unlucky start with some pinch hitters ruining parlays but it's a marathon, not a sprint. I'll be coming at you weekly with my favorite SGP's of the day. Last year, it was a decent season last year, finishing slightly above the money across the season. Remember, SGP's are high-risk, high-reward so you aren't going to hit them frequently but when you do, it's an incredible feeling. I'll come at you with multiple of my favorite SGP's any night, but remember to shop around. Many books do not have different odds for any given SGP but have different boosts. They love when you bet them so you might as well take advantage of whatever boosted odds they have to offer when you do. Last week, I missed two of the Tokyo Series SGP's both by a single leg so today let's get us a winner.

New York Yankees at Detroit Tigers

The Yankees have started strong offensively with the second most runs scored in MLB so far.

Paul Goldschmidt has been a big catalyst for that with an .878 OPs and a .342 batting average across his first 10 games in the pinstripes. He's hit off Jack Flaherty and I expect him to continue his hot run so far.

Max Fried has had a hot start as well, allowing three earned runs in his 10.1 IP. He's consistently had a sub-3.30 ERA in six straight seasons with his 3.25 a year ago being the worst effort. He's basically held all the Tigers' hitters at bay without much impressive to worry about their offense-making waves. This is a game I imagine New York leads early and cruises home to a victory.

Parlay Odds: +525

Texas Rangers at Chicago Cubs

The one team to score more runs than the Yankees are the Cubs. It helps they've played additional games but they still have nearly seven runs a game. Nico leads the team in batting average and has hit Tyler Mahle well to go with it.

On the other side, Shota Imanaga has been excellent. Even with a 2.91 ERA a year ago, he's picked up right where he left off with a sub-1.00 ERA. What hasn't followed so far yet is the strikeouts and I expect those to come. He managed over one inning in 2024 and he's gone 7.0 IP in two straight starts. Today, against a Rangers team that hasn't seen much of Imanaga in action, I expect plenty of forwards and backward K's.
