Arizona Diamondbacks at Washington Nationals
- Leg 1: Diamondbacks Moneyline (-135)
- Leg 2: Mitchell Parker Over 2.5 Runs Allowed (-125)
- Leg 3: Both Teams to Score 3+ Runs (-130)
It's been a great start to the Diamondbacks' season, as the team looks like it could be a contender in the National League. It's hard not to think that this is one of the more well-balanced lineups in the league with a good mix of power and hitting for average. They are in the top eight in batting average (eighth), on-base percentage (fourth) and slugging rate (fifth).
The pitching is a different story, though, ranking 27th in ERA (5.27). Eduardo Rodriguez did not have the best first start of the season by allowing three earned runs and three walks in a no-decision. If the Nationals want to get to Rodriguez, they can take advantage of his lack of control.
Easier said than done, however, with Washington drawing the fourth-fewest walks this year (16). There isn't anything positive to say about the Nats, as it looks to be another underwhelming season for them. They are 23rd in runs scored, but you're seeing teams like Houston, Texas and Atlanta below them, which might not last long. The pitching is also 23rd in ERA (5.07).
Second-year starter Mitchell Parker will likely be their best starter. He has great movement on his fastball and gets hitters to swing under it. He shut down the power of the Phillies’ lineup last Sunday, pitching 6.1 scoreless innings in a win.
The way Parker pitches doesn't favor him against a Diamondbacks lineup that does well at making contact.

New York Yankees at Pittsburgh Pirates
- Leg 1: Yankees Moneyline (-162)
- Leg 2: Yankees Team Total Over 5.5 Runs (-105)
- Leg 3: Aaron Judge 2+ Total Bases (-145)
The power of the Yankees’ bat cannot be contained. They just had back-to-back nine-run efforts but only hit a disappointing combined four home runs. They still lead the league with 22 homers. Aaron Judge has a league-leading six of those home runs, to go along with a league-leading 17 RBI, as he defends his MVP trophy.
Marcus Stroman didn't have a great first start of the season, going 4.2 innings and allowing three runs against the Brewers, but the Yankees scored enough in that game that he didn't need to be great.
We could see a better performance from Stroman as the Pirates’ offense is off to a terrible start. Yesterday's game finally got them over the Mendoza line, and they are now hitting .204. However, they have an on-base percentage of just .294. It looks like this lineup could struggle all season.
Bailey Falter had a great start to the year, going six innings and allowing three runs against the Marlins. He might have more inflated numbers against the Yankees’ lineup, as he's more of a fly-ball pitcher.
That's a dangerous territory against a Yankees lineup showing off power early in the season.
