(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Baltimore Orioles at Detroit Tigers
- Leg 1: Tigers -1.5 (+110)
- Leg 2: Tarik Skubal 6+ Strikeouts (+160)
It has been a rough start to 2025 for Tarik Skubal, but the reigning American League Cy Young winner has looked great. He’s coming in with a 1.00 ERA and 1.08 FIP in his last three starts.
Skubal’s problem at the start of the year was pitch location and mixing pitches. He relied heavily on the fastball, and opposing batters were able to time the pitch. Lately, he’s been more balanced, mixing his change-up and slider, keeping opposing hitters off guard.
Skubal doesn't have a long history against this Orioles roster (54 plate appearances), but he has been successful with a lifetime .184 batting average against and a 36.2% whiff rate. Baltimore is currently 17th in whiff rate (25.6%).
Offense has been at a premium in this series, with the Royals winning both games 2-0. Now we're getting what will likely be the best pitching matchup of the series.
Parlay Odds: +446
Houston Astros at Kansas City Royals
- Leg 1: Under 7.5 Runs (-112)
- Leg 2: Hunter Brown Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-135)
- Leg 3: Kris Bubic Under 5.5 Hits Allowed (-115)
The Royals are hot after a tough start to the season and have won six straight. Kris Bubic has been great to start the year and has had quality starts in four of his five outings. This has been his best stretch of play after being relegated to the bullpen last year. With his ability to change speeds, his whiff rate is in the 79th percentile.
Hunter Brown is another pitcher having one of his best seasons, and his 1.16 ERA is far better than his 3.82 career ERA. He's been blowing away hitters with his fastball, and his +7 run value on the pitch is in the 99th percentile this season.
Parlay Odds: +516
Pittsburgh Pirates at Los Angeles Dodgers
- Leg 1: Dodgers -1.5 (-155)
- Leg 2: Tyler Glasnow Under 1.5 Earned Runs Allowed (-125)
- Leg 3: Teoscar Hernandez 2+ Total Bases (-105)
The Dodgers had to fight for the National League West title last season, and that could very well happen again, with almost all the teams in the division looking competitive. They hope to have their entire roster for the season, something they had trouble with last year.
One of the key pieces they didn't have during the playoffs last year was Tyler Glasnow. He's having a great season, allowing two or fewer runs in three of his four starts. Now he faces the Pirates, who are proving to be one of the worst lineups in the league, ranking 25th in batting average (.223) and 27th in OPS (.640).
Parlay Odds: +478
