MLB Same Game Parlay Odds & Picks: Thursday (4/3)

There’s a limited slate of MLB games this Thursday, but I won’t let it hold me back. We’re only a week into the MLB season and I’m jacked up like a spider monkey chugging Mountain Dew.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Colorado Rockies

Leg 1: Phillies – 1.5

A very bad Colorado team faces a confident and healthy Phillies team. Through the season so far:

  • Phillies OPS – Second in MLB behind the torpedo bats
  • Rockies OPS – 28th in MLB, far behind the torpedo bats

The Phillies score early and often. While the Rockies’ offense may tack some on, I expect the Phillies to keep the pressure strong during a home day game against a Colorado team that has played five games in 2025, yet somehow sits 5.5 games out of first place in the National League West.

Quickly, let’s take notes for tomorrow’s game and who has the advantage:

  • Phillies: Batting, hitting, bullpen, manager, home crowd, winning streak, better starting pitcher
  • Rockies: Denver is beautiful in April.

Leg 2: Phillies First Five Innings Over 2.5 Runs

See above. We get a healthy Phillies team facing Antonio Senzatela, who had a 1.86 WHIP last year? Give me the vig and more Mountain Dew. I’m eager to watch this matchup tomorrow.

Leg 3: Taijuan Walker Over 4.5 Strikeouts

Healthy? Check.

Motivated? Check.

First start of the season? Check.

Tijuan Walker has a history of starting the season strong and then fading as the season progresses:

  • May ERA: 4.78
  • June ERA: 5.75
  • July ERA: Injured
  • August ERA: 9.78

Fifteen strikeouts in 32 innings to end last season hurt his numbers, but Walker wasn’t 100% like he allegedly is now. I expect to see him fired up and to punch out some bad Rockies hitters. This seems almost too good to be true. But I need to exercise caution, it’s not like the Rockies have struck out more than any other team in the MLB this year. You’re kidding me.

I’m going to keep targeting this Rockies team unless I see some drastic change out of them, like larger baseball mitts or hurricane bats. Whatever the new trend will be next week.
