MLB Same Game Parlay Odds & Picks: Wednesday (9/18)

When betting on baseball, same-game parlays (SGP) offer an extra sizzle and spice. These SGPs allow you to combine multiple multiple legs into a customizable wager with potentially massive payouts. Whether you're a seasoned bettor or a curious newcomer, same-game parlays provide an enticing way to engage with America's favorite pastime.

Last week was a swing and a miss on my parlays, to keep the baseball metaphor alive, but it's still a positive season. Remember, these are high-risk, high-reward bets so you won't be hitting winners every day. When you do, though, it'll be well worth it. Remember to shop around for the best odds. It's been a bit of a tough couple of weeks, missing a lot of parlays by one leg. But hey, we bounce back. Let's get to it.

Atlanta Braves at Cincinnati Reds

As the Braves fight for a playoff spot, they send Spencer Schwellenbach to the bump to earn a win for Atlanta. Cincinnati counters with Jakob Junis, who has been awesome with a 1.32 ERA in September over his last three starts. It's an impressive performance of late for both starters. An individual who has hit Junis well, however, is Michael Harris. He's slugged Junis well and with the expected leadoff spot he will get plenty of opportunity to garner two total bases.

I simply can't imagine Atlanta losing here with what they gain and the lack of what Cincinnati has to lose. They are essentially out of the running and Atlanta needs to stop their skid of three straight losses if they expect to sneak into the playoffs. I trust that even if Junis deals he isn't someone who goes deep into games and I trust the Braves to be able to manage this Reds bullpen to earn a victory.

Parlay Odds: +460

Arizona Diamondbacks at Colorado Rockies

It's not the spiciest SGP but it still sits at +500. I would put it closer to +400, so there is significant value. The Diamondbacks are in a similar situation as the Braves, fighting for a playoff spot. Coming off a loss, I expect them to bounce back here. The problem is Eduardo Rodriguez is starting. His early game ERA isn't great and he's allowed an opponents’ batting average over .300 to the first half of lineups this year. I expect him to struggle out of the gate.

What's great for the Diamondbacks is how truly terrible the Rockies’ bottom-ranked bullpen ERA is. Ketel Marte will lead the charge here, as he already is 8-for-21 with two home runs against Austin Gomber, who is starting for the Rockies. Take the Rockies early and the Diamondbacks late, and we got a win on our hands.

Parlay Odds: +500

Houston Astros at San Diego Padres

You may find a theme with me sticking with playoff teams who still have a lot to play for. Keeping it consistent with teams who are still playing for something with the season winding down is a lot easier to handicap because teams are testing out their young players and new lineups, which makes it tough to predict. The Astros send Framber Valdez to the bump tonight. He has been a model of consistency, allowing one run in his last three starts. The Astros’ bullpen is one of the best in the league and the Padres take a big dip in offensive production against left-handers, with a .693 OPS against southpaws compared to a .766 OPS against righties.

I could just take the Padres under here, but that won't add a lot to the parlay. I chose to target Jackson Merrill because of the historical numbers against Valdez and the value offered by the hitter he is. If you are targeting someone else to add I would recommend Luis Arraez or Jurickson Profar unders instead of the team to go under. The Astros win this game 3-1 and continue a chokehold over the American League West.

Parlay Odds: +575
