MLB Same Game Parlays & Picks: Tuesday (3/31)

It is still way too soon in the MLB season to make any judgments. But that just means we may need to dig a little deeper to figure out which markets are best and should/could be used when building MLB same game parlays (SGPs).

After doing a deep dive into several of the games on Tuesday's slate, the following are my best MLB SGPs for the last day of March.

Texas Rangers vs. Baltimore Orioles

Rangers Moneyline (-131)

Texas is off to a solid 3-1 start this season, while Baltimore is 2-2. The Orioles have struggled at the plate so far (.228 batting average), and I doubt it will get any better against Rangers starter Jacob deGrom. Orioles starter Zach Eflin went 6-5 last season with a 5.93 ERA.

I'm tempted to go with Texas via the run line because of the pitching matchup and Baltimore's struggles, but I decided I'm going to be a little more cautious and just go for the outright win.

Jake Burger 1+ Walks (+191)

Jake Burger has yet to record a walk this season and had only 12 last season in 356 at-bats. But here he is, hitting .471 with two home runs and an OPS of 1.382. The Orioles may not walk him in the first at-bat, but if the game is close and he's at the plate, Baltimore has to consider intentionally walking him.

Zach Eflin Over 3.5 Strikeouts (-138)

Zach Eflin is not a big strikeout pitcher, but the Rangers have recorded 45 strikeouts in four games. If he can last at least five innings, there is a very good chance he records four strikeouts before getting pulled.

Parlay Odds: +831 -A $100 wager will result in a $931 payday; your winnings plus $831 in winnings.

New York Yankees vs. Seattle Mariners

Yankees Moneyline (-115)

The Yankees’ offense has yet to really explode, but facing Logan Gilbert might be just what they need. Gilbert lost his first start of the season after giving up five hits and three runs in 5.1 innings. In 74 at-bats against him, Yankee hitters have hit .311. As for Yankees starter Max Fried, he gave up two hits and zero runs in his first start (6.1 innings).

The Mariners took a 2-1 win yesterday in the series opener, but I expect the Yankees to bounce back with Fried on the mound.

Giancarlo Stanton 1+ Hits (-150)

In 16 at-bats, Giancarlo Stanton has recorded eight hits. He is the definition of riding a hot hand. Of all the hitters in New York’s lineup, Stanton may be the most likely to get a hit.

Brendan Donovan 1+ Hits (-167)

What Giancarlo Stanton is for the Yankees (so far), Brendan Donovan is for the Mariners. In 18 at-bats, he has also recorded eight hits, including two in four out of five games.

Parlay Odds: +367 - A $100 wager will result in a $467 payday; your stake plus $367 in winnings.
