Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Athletics
Leg #1: Over 10.5 Runs (-124)
If you were afraid the hit parade would stop for the A's once they left Las Vegas, yesterday proved you have nothing to worry about. The hot hand continued for the A's back at hitter-friendly Sutter Health Park in Sacramento (15 hits, 11 runs).
Look for it to continue with Pittsburgh sending Mitch Keller to the mound today (5.14 ERA, 1.31 WHIP), with the Pirates adding just enough against Jack Perkins (6.25 ERA, 1.36 WHIP) to send the final score over the total.
Leg #2: Nick Kurtz 2+ Total Bases (-125)
I may be playing this one more conservatively than I need to. Nick Kurtz has recorded two or more total bases in six of his last eight games, with extra-base hits in five of them. But there may be one problem. After seeing him hit two home runs last night, the Pirates may pitch around him.
Leg #3: Jack Perkins Under 4.5 Strikeouts (-110)
Jack Perkins isn't a traditional starter, but more of a reliever the A's will use to get the first few innings out of the way. He's gone four innings in his last two appearances and in three of his last five outings.
Of those three outings, he went over 4.5 strikeouts in two of them. If he goes four or more innings, there is a chance he goes over this total, but he has pitched 2.1 or fewer innings in eight out of nine appearances last month. Perkins recorded no more than two punchouts in any single outing.
Parlay Odds: +410 - A $100 wager will result in a $510 payday; your stake plus $410 in winnings.
Cleveland Guardians vs. Milwaukee Brewers
Leg #1: Over 8.o Runs (-115)
I'm counting on the Guardians’ lineup to wake up a bit and pitch in, at least while the Brewers have Robert Gasser in the game (6.38 ERA, 1.58 WHIP). They hit .242 and scored 10 runs in the three games they played last week.
But with the way the Brewers have been hitting (.295 in four games last week), they may not need much help against Cleveland starter Slade Cecconi (4.83 ERA, 1.44 WHIP).
Leg #2: Jackson Chourio 1+ RBI (+155)
Jackson Chourio has hit safely in his last seven games and recorded at least one RBI in his last six. He has 10 RBI in that six-game stretch, with multiple RBI in two of those games.
Leg #3: Robert Gasser Under 5.5 Strikeouts (-162)
In his four starts, Robert Gasser has recorded three, four, five and seven strikeouts. However, after watching him give up four home runs to the A's, I doubt they leave him in the game long enough to record six strikeouts against a Guardians team that has struck out just over seven times per game over their last three outings.
Parlay Odds: +426 - A $100 wager will result in a $526 payday; your stake plus $426 in winnings.
