MLB Same Game Parlays & Picks: Tuesday (8/25)

The good thing about quiet Mondays during the MLB season is knowing that Tuesday's schedule is typically full like it is today. Of course, with so many games comes a plethora of betting options. Today, I want to talk about one: MLB Same Game Parlays (SGPs). With so many games and options with everyone, it can be a daunting task figuring out which one(s) to bet on.

That's where I come in. Here are my top two MLB SGPs for the day.

Texas Rangers vs. Chicago White Sox

Texas beat the White Sox 11-2 on Monday but now faces Anthony Kay, who is 6-4 at home with a 3.20 ERA. Jacob deGrom is strong overall, though he has struggled on the road this season, going 3-6 with a 5.01 ERA in 12 starts. However, deGrom may benefit from Chicago's recent contact struggles (.202 BA over the last seven games), while Texas is hitting .246.

With momentum on their side, the Rangers can win on the road, but I'd avoid the run line.

As a strikeout pitcher, deGrom is certainly capable of striking out at least seven batters in an outing. Against a team hitting .202 over the last week and striking out an average of nine times per game, I'd almost expect him to. His strikeout totals have not been consistent, but against a lineup that he has struck out 18 times in 55 at-bats, he'll record over 6.5 as long as he doesn't get pulled too early.

Duran has hit safely in four of his last five games while Seager has hit safely in seven of eight. Duran went 2-for-4 and Seager 3-for-4 in yesterday's game, and both have hit well over .400 over the last week. With how well they have been hitting, I'll take both to get at least one hit tonight.

SGP Odds: +420 — A $100 wager will result in a $520 payday, your stake plus $420 in winnings.

Kansas City Royals vs. Toronto Blue Jays

Seth Lugo is 1-3 in 12 road starts with a 5.63 ERA and a .298 OBA. Max Scherzer is 1-5 at home in seven starts with an 8.33 ERA and .269 OBA. Both teams have hit better than .300 over the last week. We should see a lot of offense in this game, at least while the starters are in.

Lugo and Scherzer are both very hittable pitchers, so I'm going with guys here that appear to be more likely to record a hit today. Kirk has hit safely in his last 12 games while Okamoto has hit safely in nine games. Pasquintino has hit safely in six of his last seven outings. Isbel has hit safely in six of his last seven games as well.

SGP Odds: +566 — A $100 wager will result in a $666 payday, your stake plus $566 in winnings.
