Wednesday’s Best MLB Same Game Parlays

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Philadelphia Phillies vs San Diego Padres

Leg #1: Alternate Game Total Under 8.0 Runs (-181)

This matchup profiles as a pitching-first game. Philadelphia's rotation has been dominant lately, posting a 1.11 ERA over its last five games, and the Phillies just held San Diego to three runs or fewer in back-to-back games entering this matchup.

Cristopher Sanchez has also been in elite form, carrying a massive scoreless streak recently while continuing to generate one of the best change-ups in baseball.

While Padres starter Walker Buehler's 5.05 ERA is a bit scary to play the under, he has not done a decent job at limiting damage against subpar offenses.

Over his last five starts, Buehler has allowed three or more earned runs only once, and historically has done well against these current Phillies hitters (.243 opponents’ batting average).

If Buehler can hang in there for the first five innings and then hand the ball to one of the best bullpens in the game, we have a shot to cash this alt under.

Leg #2: Bryce Harper 2+ Hits + Runs + RBIs (-111)

Bryce Harper is locked in right now. He homered on Tuesday night against the Padres and has continued producing in the middle of the Phillies’ lineup.

Historically, Harper has crushed San Diego pitcher Walker Buehler. In six at-bats against the righty, Harper has four hits, including three doubles and a home run.

Leg #3: Cristopher Sanchez 6+ Strikeouts (-268)

Cristopher Sanchez's swing-and-miss stuff has been electric. He has struck out six or more hitters in five straight starts while generating a ridiculous whiff rate on his change-up.

Today, Sanchez faces a lineup that has the 11th-highest strikeout rate against left-handed pitchers.

Colorado Rockies vs Los Angeles Dodgers

Leg #1: Tomoyuki Sugano Over 3.5 Earned Runs (+105)

The very first thing I noticed about this game was the Dodgers’ Moneyline price at -425. It's extremely rare to see Moneyline odds that high. I’m sure the Dodgers in years past had a line priced similarly to today’s, but it’s still alarming when you see it.

This is a brutal matchup for Rockies starter Tomoyuki Sugano. The Dodgers lead baseball in several offensive categories, including on-base percentage (OBP) and wRC+, while averaging over five runs per game.

Even more concerning, the Dodgers already got to Sugano earlier this season. In his April matchup against the Dodgers, he lasted just four innings while allowing five earned runs and nine hits.

Leg #2: Dodgers Team Total Over 5.5 Runs (+105)

Obviously, this is correlated with the play above, but everything points toward another offensive outburst from the Dodgers.

Los Angeles has already scored 15 and five runs in the first two games of the series, and this matchup sets up even better, considering Tomoyuki Sugano's contact-heavy pitching style. He doesn't generate many strikeouts, which is dangerous against a lineup stacked with power and patience.

Dating back to last season, the Dodgers have hit this number in six of their 11 games against the Rockies.

Leg #3: Shohei Ohtani to Hit a Home Run (+245)

This is the perfect Shohei Ohtani spot. He's historically crushed Tomoyuki Sugano, dating back to their matchups in Japan, going 6-for-7 with two homers and two doubles against him between Major League Baseball and Japan.

The last time Ohtani pitched, he also hit a home run. Let's see if he can do it two games in a row.
