MLB Sleeper Picks Player Predictions: Tuesday (5/7)
Wow. What a brutal way to lose a sweep on yesterday’s MLB Sleeper card. Sean Manaea was rolling through five innings, just as planned without a single earned run allowed. After giving up an RBI double to start the innings, he settled in and got two outs, before Ivan Herrera stepped up to the plate. The Cardinals backstop ripped a two-RBI double, killing the under 2.5 earned runs prop, but that’s how it goes sometimes. Let’s hope we don’t suffer that sort of heartbreak against this Tuesday, May 7. Here are our top MLB Sleeper picks for Tuesday.

Check out our top three Sleeper MLB player predictions and picks for Monday’s slate of baseball action.
Sleeper Record: 55-31
Yoshinobu Yamamoto Less Than 1.5 Earned Runs (1.90x)
The Marlins lineup was already pretty pathetic with Luis Arraez. Now that he is traded, they have a borderline AAA team out there. They are 26th in wRC+ (87) on the season against right-handed pitching, and now they face one of the best in the game in Yoshinobu Yamamoto. He ranks in the top 97th percentile in xFIP, 89th in K%, 95th in CSW% and 78th in BB% amongst all starters. He’s coming off back-to-back scoreless outings, and given the state of the Marlins offense right now, he should be able to make that three in a row. He has allowed nary a run in four of his seven starts this season.
Pablo Sandoval More Than 5.5 Strikeouts (1.75x)
It’s hard to know what you’re going to get from Sandoval every start. One thing working in his favor today is the fact he gets the Pirates, who have the fifth-highest K% (25.8%) against lefties this season. The Angels lefty is coming off a season-best 10 strikeouts against the Phillies in just five innings. If he brings that type of stuff to the table this start, he should find at least six here. Sandy has exceeded this line in four of seven starts.
Shota Imanaga Less Than 5.5 Hits Allowed (1.50x)
Another Japanese rookie, the Cubs left-hander has been phenomenal in his opening MLB month. He ranks in the top 97th percentile in xERA, 84th in xFIP, 78th iu K%, 95th in BB%, 91st in H/9 and 93rd in SwStr% amongst all starting pitchers. There has yet to be a start where he has allowed more than five hits, and now he get a stellar matchup facing the Padres at home. San Diego has the third-lowest batting average (.195) and are 20th in wRC+ (92) when facing Southpaws. Eight of the nine lefties to go up against them have stayed under this mark too.
