MLB To Hit a Home Run Odds, Picks & Predictions: Monday (10/16)

Happy Monday all! We’re blessed with two playoff baseball games this afternoon, but I’m zeroing in on the Rangers and Astros matchup for this particular article with so much history between the two teams. There’s a decent chance they open the roof in Houston tonight too with beautiful weather in the area, and that would be a boost to the bats. Meanwhile in Philadelphia, it will be a chilly 50-degree night.

Monday’s Best Player To Hit A Home Run Prop Bets

Jose Altuve to Hit a HR  (+600 @ DraftKings)

Most likely one of the most popular HR bets to mark tonight will be on Jose Altuve to poke one out at +600. It’s a great price for a guy who has thrived in the postseason with 24 career postseason dingers across 97 games. He tanked one out on the first pitch of Game 1 in the ALDS against Pablo Lopez and the Twins and might be able to do the same facing Nathan Eovaldi tonight. He has five homers in 41 plate appearances facing the Rangers right-handed starter. Altuve has made a living of pulling a fly ball into the Crawford Boxes in left field, and at this price is worth the dabble.

Mitch Garver to Hit a HR (+480 @ FanDuel)

Although he has yet to hit a homer against a lefty this season, Mitch Garver rakes lefties. He has a career 139 wRC+ against Southpaws compared to his 114 wRC+ facing righties. Tonight he and the Rangers take on the Astros struggling left-hander, Framber Valdez who allowed a HR against the Twins in the ALDS. Garver is 4-16 against him and went yard in Game 2 of the ALDS against Baltimore. Just like any right-handed hitter, pulling a fly ball into the Crawford boxes in left field can get this home.
