MLB To Hit a Home Run Player Prop Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (6/6)

We have a jam-packed MLB slate tonight with all 30 teams hitting the diamond. With all of the action comes a myriad of sports betting options, from moneylines and totals to player props and game props. I’m focusing on the player props tonight, specifically which players I think have a great chance to go yard. Here are my favorite four bets for who I think will hit a home run tonight.

Max Muncy (+200)

After dropping three of four games to the Yankees over the weekend, the Dodgers head to the midwest where they’ll take on the Reds for a trio of games. The series opener features a pitching matchup between Tony Gonsolin and Luke Weaver. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET from Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, OH.

Weaver hasn’t been the most reliable option for Cincinnati this season as he’s just 1-2 with a 5.36 ERA and 1.35 WHIP. The right-hander is coming off of a start where he allowed three earned runs on seven hits over 5.2 innings against the Red Sox on Wednesday. Weaver took a no-decision in the 5-4 win.

He’ll have a tall task against a potent Los Angeles offense that’s ranked fourth in OPS (.789) and second in home runs (101). One of Weaver’s weaknesses this season has been his inability to keep the ball in the yard. He’s allowed 11 home runs over just 43.2 innings of work. Enter Max Muncy, who has essentially developed into a guy who hits home runs and draws walks. The slugger has mashed 18 long balls this season, which is the third-most in the majors. Finally, he has found success against Weaver as he’s gone 4-13 (.308) with a home run and a double. Let’s lock in Muncy to go deep tonight at the GABP.

Matt Olson (+225) & Ronald Acuna Jr. (+320)

We have a huge midweek series in the Peach State as the Mets (5.5 GB) try to narrow the gap between themselves and the first-place Braves. They’ll turn to Carlos Carrasco to handle the starting pitching responsibilities while Atlanta goes with Bryce Elder. First pitch is scheduled for 7:20 p.m. ET from Truist Park in Atlanta, GA.

Carrasco is set to make his seventh start of the year tonight and he’s been solid over his last two, giving up just two earned runs over 12.2 innings pitched. The outings dropped his ERA and WHIP to 5.74 and 1.37, respectively. However, both of those runs came via the long ball and he’s now given up six over 31.1 innings pitched this season.

Similar to Weaver above, Carrasco will have to navigate a lethal lineup that’s third in both OPS (.791) and home runs (97). As for the head-to-head numbers, the Braves are slashing .266/.333/.514 over 109 at-bats against Venezuelan-born hurler. Their current roster has taken him deep six times. Two of those home runs belong to Matt Olson while one has come off the bat of Ronald Acuna Jr. The outfielder is 3-8 (.375) against Carrasco with a pair of doubles while Olson is 5-12 (.417) with two doubles as well. I’m locking in both of these guys to hit round-trippers tonight.

Corey Seager (+400)

The Rangers took game one of their three-game set with the Cardinals last night, winning 4-3. They’ll turn to Dane Dunning as they attempt to win their fifth straight game tonight. The Cardinals counter with Matthew Liberatore in this interleague tilt set for 8:05 p.m. ET from Globe Life Field in Arlington, TX.

Liberatore has made just three starts this season and comes into tonight’s game at 1-1 with a 4.91 ERA and 1.36 WHIP. The left-hander wasn’t sharp last time out, giving up four earned runs on five hits and two walks against the Guardians.

The Rangers have yet to face the young Liberatore, so we do not have any head-to-head data. However, I’m just going to take a shot with Corey Seager to hit a bomb tonight. The shortstop has been on a tear this season, hitting .351 with six homers and a 1.017 OPS. His average climbs to .361 when facing lefties and two of his big flies have come against LHP. Let’s ride with Seager to go yard tonight.
