MLB To Hit a Home Run Player Prop Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (9/19)
The new MLB week is underway, and we have some intriguing matchups on the schedule as the postseason race heats up. A few of those series include the Phillies squaring off against the Braves, the Orioles taking on the Astros and the Diamondbacks hosting the Giants.
From a betting standpoint, I'm heading to the prop sheet. Let's dive into my top three to hit a home run prop bets for tonight's 15-game MLB slate:
Today's Best To Hit A Home Run Prop Bets

CJ Abrams (+600)
The White Sox took game one of their series with the Nationals last night, beating them 6-1. Tonight's pitching matchup features a battle between Jose Urena and Jackson Rutledge. First pitch for the interleague tilt is set for 7:05 p.m. ET from Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.
Urena is set to make just his eighth start of the season and third in a Chicago uniform. The right-hander was previously with Colorado, where he posted a 9.82 ERA over 18.1 innings of work. Overall, Urena owns an 8.48 ERA and 1.88 WHIP. He has also been crushed by the long ball, yielding 3.77 home runs per nine innings.
Urena made a start against the Nationals earlier this season at Coors Field, and it wasn't pretty. He gave up six runs (four earned) on seven hits and three walks over 2.2 innings. Washington's current roster is slashing .370/.414/.556 against him with a home run. CJ Abrams has been successful against Urena, going 3-5 (.600) with a triple. Abrams has sneaky pop with 18 big flies this year, and I think he'll have a good chance to get to 19 tonight.
Ronald Acuna Jr. (+450) & Austin Riley (+425)
The Braves secured the NL East title on Wednesday, and they appear to still be recovering from the celebration, as they've dropped four straight games since then. They'll look to get back in the win column tonight as they turn to Spencer Strider. The Phillies counter with Cristopher Sanchez in this divisional matchup scheduled for 7:20 p.m. ET from Truist Park in Atlanta, GA.
Sanchez is putting together a solid season. He comes into this game at 2-4 and owns a 3.40 ERA and 1.05 WHIP. The left-hander is allowing 1.44 home runs per nine innings.
While those are decent numbers, I want to lock in a pair of Braves tonight since they're chasing the record for most home runs hit by a team. Minnesota set the record with 307 back in 2019, and Atlanta is currently at 289 with 12 games remaining.
Furthermore, Ronald Acuna Jr. and Austin Riley have been instrumental in adding home runs to the team's count. Acuna Jr., the MVP frontrunner (-600), has mashed 37 tanks, while Riley is right behind him with 36. We'll avoid Matt Olson (52 HR) tonight since it's a lefty-lefty matchup, and he's 0-4 (.000) against Sanchez. Acuna is 2-4 (.500) with a pair of singles against the left-hander, while Riley is 2-4 (.500) with a home run. Look for this stacked Atlanta offense to be swinging for the fences down the stretch.
