Tuesday’s Best MLB Underdog Fantasy Player Predictions

Bryce Harper HIGHER 8.0 Fantasy Points

Bryce Harper is having a sensational season at the plate. According to FanGraphs, in 375 plate appearances this year, he’s hit 23 homers with five stolen bases, a .395 OBP, .281 ISO and 166 wRC+. Harper is also locked in. In his previous 62 plate appearances, he’s hit five homers with a .387 OBP, .382 ISO and 195 wRC+.

Brent Rooker HIGHER 6.5 Fantasy Points

Brent Rooker is destroying everything thrown his way. In his past 98 plate appearances, Rooker has hit nine homers and stolen three bases with a .449 OBP, .386 ISO and 233 wRC+. He’s a stud against righties, too. Since 2022, Rooker has had a .341 OBP, .246 ISO and 137 wRC+ against right-handed pitchers.

Lawrence Butler HIGHER 7.0 Fantasy Points

Rooker hasn’t been the only hot hitter on the A’s. In Lawrence Butler’s previous 75 plate appearances, he’s hit seven homers and stolen three bases with a .400 OBP, .377 ISO and 218 wRC+. Moreover, in 186 plate appearances against righties this year, Butler has hit nine homers with a .328 OBP, .222 ISO and 131 wRC+.

Logan Gilbert LOWER 5.0 Hits

Logan Gilbert is cooking with gasoline this year. In 20 starts spanning 132.1 innings, he’s had a 2.79 ERA, 3.11 xERA, 0.87 WHIP, .225 BABIP and .190 batting average against him. Gilbert has held back-to-back opponents under five hits and allowed fewer than five hits in five of his previous six turns.

Gilbert has a cushy matchup tonight. The Angels are tied for 25th in wRC+ (91) versus righties and tied for 24th in wRC+ (88) on the road. Finally, the Angels are 24th in batting average (.231) versus righties and tied for 22nd in batting average (.230) on the road this year.
