MLB World Series Home Run Player Prop Picks: Friday (Diamondbacks vs. Rangers)

The World Series gets underway tonight as the Arizona Diamondbacks take on the Texas Rangers! Can the Snakes keep the magic alive? I won't be able to tell you that, but I do have an Arizona player that I'm locking in to go yard tonight. I've also added a Ranger, so let's dive right into my top two To Hit a Home Run prop bets for game one tonight.

Today's Best To Hit A Home Run Prop Bets

Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (+550)

First pitch for game one is scheduled for 8:03 p.m. ET from Globe Life Park in Arlington, TX. With several days off, both teams will ride with their top starters in Zac Gallen and Nathan Eovaldi.

Eovaldi is a playoff legend, and he continues to step up in big situations as his career goes on. The right-hander is 4-0 this postseason with a 2.42 ERA and 0.96 WHIP. He has done a great job keeping the ball in the park as his HR/9 rate is 0.69, down from his regular season mark of 0.94.

However, I still think Eovaldi is vulnerable to give up a bomb tonight. The Diamondbacks have found success against him in a decent sample size, slashing .302/.362/.465 over 43 at-bats. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. has owned him, going 7-18 (.389) with a pair of home runs. The left fielder is hitting .250 this postseason with two long balls to his resume. I think it's worth a shot on the +550 payout with Gurriel.

Marcus Semien (+450)

Zac Gallen will oppose Eovaldi, and he's still looking to find his footing this postseason. The ace comes into this one with a 5.24 ERA and 1.48 WHIP over four starts. Yikes! Now he's tasked with taking on a vaunted Texas offense that has launched the second-most home runs this postseason with 22 (PHI 24).

Gallen has been susceptible to the homer this postseason, posting an HR/9 rate of 2.42. His regular season mark was 0.94. In terms of the head-to-head numbers, the right-hander has limited Texas to a slash line of .256/.281/.384 over 86 at-bats. Only two players have taken him deep, and they are Mitch Garver and Robbie Grossman. But, I'll ride with Marcus Semien to launch one tonight. He's 5-8 (.625) against Gallen with a pair of doubles.
