Monday Night Football Player Props, Picks & Predictions: Ravens vs. Saints (2022)

A week after shutting out the Raiders, the Saints host the Ravens for Monday Night Football. With a win, New Orleans could pull into a very sad three-way tie atop the NFC South. Baltimore needs the win to remain clear of Cincinnati in the AFC North race.

With elite offensive talent on both sides of this matchup, we’re highlighting a few of our favorite player props to attack on Monday night.

Monday Night Football Player Props, Picks & Predictions (Ravens vs. Saints)

Isaiah Likely OVER 43.5 Receiving Yards (-110 via FanDuel Sportsbook)

We knew from the preseason that Isaiah Likely was a notable talent, but it was not until Mark Andrews’ premature exit from last Thursday’s game against Tampa Bay that the rookie tight end was able to truly make his mark in the regular season.

After Andrews left with a shoulder injury, Likely emerged for six catches on seven targets for 77 yards and an impressive touchdown grab. Though Andrews’ injury isn’t considered serious, the Ravens are opting to rest him on Monday night, giving him through the Week 10 bye to heal up. That means another heavy dose of Likely on MNF, particularly when you consider the attrition in the rest of the receiving corps.

Rashod Bateman is out for the year with a foot injury. The Ravens are so desperate for pass-catching help that they may elevate 35-year-old DeSean Jackson for Monday’s game. Likely is technically a tight end, but he looks like a legitimate wide receiver out there running routes. This role in the Ravens’ offense is critical to their success. Likely has the athletic ability to fill it. I look for Lamar Jackson to pepper him with targets as Likely clears this minuscule yardage line with ease.

Alvin Kamara Anytime Touchdown Scorer (-105 via DraftKings Sportsbook)

Alvin Kamara hasn’t been a touchdown fiend for every week of his season, but he sure was last week against Vegas. Kamara found the end zone three times in the 24-0 win over the Raiders, clawing his way into paydirt once on the ground and twice through the air.

Kamara’s versatility amid a depleted receiving corps makes him a dangerous weapon inside the red zone. This is especially true on Monday against a Ravens defense that has allowed 12 passing touchdowns and nine rushing touchdowns against it this season.

Aside from Chris Olave, who we’ll get to momentarily, and the occasional outburst from a tight end like Juwan Johnson on the goal line, the Saints don’t have many other obvious red zone candidates with Michael Thomas out for the long haul. Now that Kamara has finally rediscovered his taste for the end zone after a touchdown slump to begin the year, I expect his exceptional skills to land him there once again on Monday.

Chris Olave Longest Reception OVER 22.5 Yards (-114 via FanDuel Sportsbook)

Rookie standout Chris Olave is due for a massive night against a beatable Ravens pass defense. Baltimore has allowed 266.8 passing yards per game this season. That ranks a pathetic 28th in the NFL.

Now, Andy Dalton is not necessarily a deep ball connoisseur at this point in his career. Still, he’s looked competent enough leading the Saints’ offense. And more importantly, he’s still willing to take those shots down the field. Even if an interception is the result, he’ll be back on the next drive looking for a splash.

Olave is the guy Dalton should be looking for on Monday in order to exploit the weak Ravens’ secondary. Olave has cleared 50+ receiving yards in every game he’s played this season. Though his longest reception has exceeded 22.5 yards in only four of seven games, Olave ranks third in the NFL in air yards this season and has had multiple 100+ yard games. His speed and route-running combination make Olave one of the best deep threats in the league; I like him to hit on at least one home run ball Monday night.
