Today’s Best NBA Bets

Let’s dive into a pair of games we like on Saturday and the best bet for each.

Philadelphia 76ers @ Utah Jazz

Let us rejoice, for we once again have the opportunity to bet on the Utah Jazz. The plucky Jazz have exceeded all expectations this year, and continue to be an excellent bet, even amid a tumultuous stretch. The 76ers are undoubtedly the better team, but we’re not betting the team, we’re betting an inflated number. Also, situationally, this is the time to put your money on Utah. The Jazz are:

  • 11-8-1 ATS at Home
  • 18-7 ATS as an Underdog
  • 7-1 ATS as a Home Underdog

It is of note that, as of writing, the Jazz have yet to tip off with the Orlando Magic on Friday night. Nevertheless, so long as Utah exits the game unscathed on the injury report, we have a strong bet with the Jazz.

Bet: Jazz +4.5 (-110)

Bonus Bet! As of writing, the Total has yet to be released for this contest, but we will likely find a bet on the Over regardless of the number. We endorsed the 76ers / Thunder o231 this past Thursday, and will likely continue to back Philly to put up points in Utah.

No team is streaking Over quite like the Philadelphia 76ers– Philly has gone Over in six straight games. Additionally, the Jazz tend to hit the Over as well and rank near the bottom in the NBA in Net Defensive Rating. Utah’s defense won’t have answers for Embiid, whereas their offense is more than capable of keeping pace.

Simply put, we feel the oddsmakers may be late to adjust to Philly’s streak to the Over. It has been historically profitable to bet on such streaks to continue, and we don’t expect points to be at a premium Saturday night.

Lean: Over

Dallas Mavericks @ Portland Trail Blazers

The Trail Blazers have endured a miserable stretch of games since the New Year, having lost outright and ATS in each of their past five contests. Yet, the team has shown signs of life in their past two contests, and this may be the time to back Portland once again.

Luka Dončić’s MVP campaign has led to the Mavericks being overbought. In truth, Dallas is a middling team in the Western Conference, and they too have been playing less than stellar ball. Over these past two weeks, the Mavs are 3-3 SU, but only 2-4 ATS. Additionally, over this same stretch, Advanced Metrics coin the Blazers as the better team– despite their record.

Dallas escaped with a 2OT win over the Lakers on Thursday night, but that victory does not ease the mind. The Mavericks have one excellent player hindered by an inconsistent supporting cast, and the team often struggles on the road (7-14 ATS, 1-9 SU as an Underdog).

Bottom line, we don’t like the Mavs’ prospects in their fourth consecutive road game. This line has already moved off of a Pick’em, and it likely continues to move in Portland’s direction. Grab the Blazers now.

Bet: Portland Moneyline (-110)
