Milwaukee Bucks @ Miami Heat  (-1)

This is a bet on a possible rest day for Milwaukee F and MVP candidate Giannis Antetokounmpo. The ‘Greek Freak’ has been nursing a minor knee injury for the past week, and his recent stat lines indicate as much. Playing the tail-end of a back-to-back, this is an ideal injury management position for the Bucks. The Heat will be out many of their best and are beatable even without Antetokounmpo.

Too, Giannis played extremely passively last night in Atlanta– even more of a signal that he may necessitate rest on Thursday night. Back the Heat to knock off a depleted Bucks squad, and be thankful for so much CLV if Milwaukee’s best do indeed take the night off.

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Philadelphia 76ers (-9.5 | O/U 231)

At the moment, no team tends Over more than the Philadelphia 76ers. Philly has gone Over in exactly five straight games and nine of their last ten– and OKC doesn’t model as a team capable of slowing the scoring. The Thunder rank third in the NBA in Pace and have a mediocre defense to boot. The young team isn’t equipped to stall Joel Embiid and Philly’s offense, and we’re not in the business of guessing when significant trends will break.

I back the 76ers to oblige to the Thunder’s pace and for the points to continue to pour in. The teams are a combined 16-4 to the Over in their last twenty games played and grade out as two of the five best offenses in the NBA since Christmas. There are few (if any) reasons suggesting otherwise– bet the Over.
