Top NBA Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions: Thursday (10/27)

Here are some of our top picks for tonight’s NBA slate.

Dallas Mavericks @ Brooklyn Nets (+1.5) | O/U: 227

The Nets have been awful early in the season, and this bet is an easy fade of a Brooklyn team playing the tail-end of a back-to-back. Circumstances surrounding the Nets 2021-2022 season were far from ideal, but the team owned a 1-3 record for both ATS and SU on the season. Conversely, Dallas excelled both with a rest advantage (11-6 SU) and following a loss (26-12 SU) last season.

Further, Brooklyn’s pieces look as though they don’t fit, and their offense is far too reliant on a handful of superstars. Dallas has similar issues regarding usage, but I trust their coaching staff far more than I do Steve Nash and Co. Back the Mavericks to regain their focus following a disappointing loss to the Pelicans, whereas the Nets should continue to reel following a disappointing collapse in Milwaukee.

Bet: Mavericks Moneyline (-120)

Miami Heat @ Golden State Warriors  (-7.5) | O/U: 225.5

The Warriors are 4-0 to Over this season, covering the Total by an average of 16.5 points. Oddsmakers have clearly lagged behind in setting accurate Over/Under lines for Golden State, and there is no reason to suspect them to have caught up so early in the season.

The Heat have a reputation for being one of the better defensive teams in the NBA, but they have actually been one of the best Over teams in the NBA. Since the start of the 2020 season, Miami’s 88-69-1 mark to the Over ranks third in the NBA, trailing only Indiana and Denver. Further, over that same time period, Miami is a league-best 20-8 to the Over on the tail-end of a back-to-back.

Bet: Over 225.5 (-110)
