NBA Finals Same Game Parlays: Wednesday (Thunder vs. Pacers)

The Pacers got a massive win in Game 1 with Tyrese Halliburton notching another game-winning basket, so they must feel good about winning at least one of those games on the road.

What makes the Thunder so good is that they can bounce back in the next game, which they did with a 123-107 win in Game 2. Oklahoma City has yet to lose back-to-back games in the playoffs and did so just twice in the regular season. We’ll break down Game 3 and put together NBA same game parlays (SGP) with our top NBA picks and predictions.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Indiana Pacers

It was another fantastic performance for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who had 34 points on 11-of-21 from the floor and 11-of-12 from the free-throw line. This now gives Gilgeous-Alexander four straight games with at least 34 points as he continues his MVP season.

We should continue to see Gilgeous-Alexander perform well, as Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle said their objective is not to try to stop Gilgeous-Alexander, but to stop everyone around him. They weren't able to do that in Game 2 as we saw Jalen Williams score 19 points, Chet Holmgren put up 15, Alex Caruso score 20 and Aaron Wiggins had 18 off the bench. This type of depth is what makes the Thunder so difficult to beat. We saw throughout Game 2 that even when the Thunder had their second unit on the court, they were still able to outscore Indiana.

Indiana has depth, too, but it is not nearly as good as the Thunder’s. This is why Indiana could consider minimizing rotating players and giving their starters more minutes. One of their biggest downfalls in the Game 2 loss was going with a smaller lineup. Myles Turner and Aaron Nesmith played fewer minutes than Bennedict Mathurin and Obi Toppin.

With a bigger lineup, the Pacers could be more aggressive going to the basket. They are last in the playoffs in free throws allowed. While they were able to go 19-of-26 at the free-throw line in Game 2, the Thunder went 29-of-33. If they can close the gap on free throws like they did in Game 1, where the Thunder was only +6 in free-throw points, then they can keep it close.

The Pacers play better at home when they have the crowd behind them. Each team has fast throughout the playoffs, with the second- and third-fastest pace of play. We should continue to see the score reflect that. We should also see each team's stars shine in this game, with Gilgeous-Alexander and Haliburton both carrying their teams.
