Top NBA First Basket Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions: Friday (12/9)

Let’s take a look at the Friday slate to find some First Basket prop winners.

Washington Wizards at Indiana Pacers

I’m going back to the well with a play here. Kristaps Porzingis continues to be the play in Wizard games. With Beal out of the lineup they need to find scoring in other ways. Porzingis is a great option here as he continues to be one of the best options for First Basket props on the Wizards. He is getting a solid distribution of the early shots and is making them at a decent enough clip to only trail Bradley Beal in first field goals on the Wizards.

Another player I’m looking for here with some more value is Kyle Kuzma. He’s been heating up a bit recently and has scored all three of his First Baskets in his last nine starts. Again, with Beal out he’s another great option to cash this prop on Friday night.

Detroit Pistons at Memphis Grizzlies

The Grizzlies host the Pistons on Friday night in a matchup that favors Memphis, especially when it comes to First Basket props. The Grizzlies have been scorching when it comes to cashing this prop. They’ve scored the first field goal in 20 of 25 games played so far and in each of their last 10. One reason they’ve been so good is that they’ve needed less than two attempts on average to get their first field goal.

Two players I’m going to target here are Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson. Morant has been the go-to guy for First Basket props for the Grizzlies, as he is with all of things for the Grizzlies. Jackson is another player I’m targeting because he creates such a mismatch for opposing defenses. His length and ability to stretch the defense makes him a good pick for a First Basket as he can score down low or pop out and shoot from the perimeter. Both of these plays are solid and worth sprinkling a little on each.
