Top NBA First Basket Scorer Bets

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Brooklyn Nets

The Nets climbed all the way back to the second seed with a stellar run over the last couple of months. However, they were hit with a tough blow recently, losing Kevin Durant who is sidelined with a knee injury. Currently, they are 1-1 without him and hopefully can stay pace in the east.

One thing they do not have a problem with is getting the first basket. They hold a clear advantage against the Thunder overall this season and come in grabbing five straight. With Durant out, Irving has stepped up and become the offensive leader of this team and has two of their last five first baskets.

Bet: Kyrie Irving (+460)

Sacramento Kings vs. San Antonio Spurs

The Kings remain among the more surprising teams in the league, as they hold the lead in the Pacific. The catalyst for this team is their top-scoring offense, who come into Sunday having scored over 130 points in four straight games.

They get a favorable matchup against the Spurs, who sit near the bottom of the Western Conference. The Kings’ high-scoring offense gets started early and have tip-off wins in seven out of their last ten games, which has resulted in six first baskets.

Sabonis is leading the league in rebounds and is shooting 61% from the floor. They have been going to him early and often, and he has four first baskets in the Kings’ last ten games.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Portland Trail Blazers

The Trail Blazers are on an abysmal run losing nine of their previous 12 as they drop in the Western Conference. Defensively they’re just above the league average, but Damian Lillard is their offense, although he can’t do it all with the team 23rd in points scored per game.

While Portland can’t finish games, they can start them with first baskets in four of their last five. This is more about the Mavericks as it is the Blazers – Dallas is 21st in first-basket percentage while Portland is third.

Grant has the third-best first-basket percentage and is taking 1/3 of the team’s first three shots this year.
