Brooklyn Nets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves

It’s been an underwhelming season for Timberwolves, who are in a position to go to back-to-back Play-In Tournaments. The absence of Karl-Anthony Towns has impacted their offense as they sit near the middle, and the defense isn’t any better.

The Nets went from championship contenders to rebuild in a matter of days during the trade deadline. They now sit just outside the Play-In Tournament, and a bad final stretch could cause them to miss the playoffs entirely.

The T-Wolves are excellent at first baskets having the third-best percentage and are ninth in tip win percentage. Anthony Edwards leads the team in first baskets, and Brooklyn is allowed the most first baskets to shooting guards.

Pick: Anthony Edwards (+390)

Atlanta Hawks vs. Washington Wizards

The Wizards are in limbo as they hold onto the tenth playoff spot by one game. They have a tough schedule down the stretch facing some of the top teams in the East and West.

The Hawks are just two games up on the Wizards in the standings. Atlanta beat Washington on Wednesday night and would love the sweep in this mini-series.

Clint Capela won the opening tip-off in that game, and Trae Young had the first basket. This now gives Capela back-to-back tip-off wins vs. Washington. Young has the most first baskets for the Hawks this season.

Pick: Trae Young (+600)

Portland Trail Blazers vs. Philadelphia 76ers

The Sixers have surged in the Eastern Conference standings over the last few months. They didn’t have their entire squad for the first part of the season, but we’ve seen that this roster can be a championship contender when they have their full array of talent on the court.

The Trail Blazers are currently outside of a playoff spot. The bottom half of the Western Conference seeding is up for grabs, so they could get into at least the Play-In Tournament with a good finish.

The start of the game will be Philadelphia, with the highest first-basket percentage, against Portland, with the highest first-basket percentage allowed. Joel Embiid leads the league in first baskets with 24, and the Blazers have allowed a quarter of the first basket to centers. This bet is meant to be.

Pick: Joel Embiid (+290)
